Not as a one-off due to the high cost but I have done a 75 piece custom version of an existing model.

I am quite keen to have something custom made.
Not super fancy...but i have a reasonable budget.
Has TF ever done this?
I realize it might end up being a one off of course hence the budget comment.

Has there ever been a TZ-UK Limited edition forum watch?
I do like the idea of a forum watch...
though i can see that it would take quite a lot of back and forth.
For me i don't mind paying a fair bit for a one off as my requirements are quite specific and i doubt would be shared by all that many on here (i want something with a large date window for example...and gas tubes for the lume...i've already out off almost everyone i suspect!).
on the other hand a forum watch..i would look at something like that and would contribute just because i generally enjoy the forum and like the idea of something different.
On another related note.
Eddie, what's the graph look like in terms of cost vs units made?
There are fixed tooling costs for the case, dial and hands if they are custom designs. These costs are the same whether you get 10 pieces or a thousand pieces made. This can easily be 5000 euros and if you want a pre-production prototype, add another thousand euros.
If you proceed with production, the technical production drawings are free but if you don't proceed, there's a charge.

I'm new to the forum but would really be interested in something so unique.

I guess you could limit the customisation to certain aspects to keep costs down.
For example, choose an available case and crystal but customise dial, hands, crown, bezel etc
