The response to this has totally exceeded our hopes and expectations, and then some. We're now well into triple-figures for tickets in the hat and four-figures for funds raised.

I'm adding a mystery bespoke third place prize in recognition of the tremendous support.

We'll aim for Laura to make the draw at noon here on Saturday, which is 6pm in the UK.
The prizes will be awarded in the following order:

    1. 'Build Your Own' Urban Chronograph
    2. 'Build Your Own' Urban Chronograph
    3. * Mystery Bespoke Third Prize *
    4. 'Harrison' by Jonathan Betts
    5. 'Harrison' by Jonathan Betts

    Some that others have suggested:

    Henri Charriere
    J.K. Rowling
    Enid Blyton
    Arthur Ransome
    Richmal Crompton
    P.G. Wodehouse
    James Gelsey
    Thomas Adamson

The 'x' is tricky, depends on how it is considered to be pronounced. Translators seem to have settled on an 's' sound.

Although I am a bit non plussed by your two examples. One is Peter rabbit, and the other one is rabbit Peter. Can't they make their minds up?

I noticed that. Eastern name order is common in some countries that use the Cyrillic alphabet so maybe 'Rabbit Peter' was produced for one of those markets.

I think that they are both Russian, similar titles: Peter-Rabbit and Others/Rabbit Peter and His Friends. Both seem to be compilations containing several of Potter's books. Name order seems to be a bit interchangeable in some Russian speaking countries.

I reckon Seikopath is thinking about Lee child or Clive cussler.

Friends is spelt differently, and one uses the possesive pronoun and the other doesn't. The first one is Russian, not sure about the other one though

I don't know, it's reaching my linguistic limits. Both images were lifted from Amazon which claims that the books are in Russian!

Well, they've spelt the G funny in the last one, and the next letter I don't recognise at all. It looks like half of the' 61' sign ('oi' sound) and might be a letter that was found in imperial Russian (ie before the language was modernised) but I don't recognise it. Plus the ending is different. For a plural it should be 'ue' like in the first one. That's what I remenber anyway
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

I've run them through that infallible tool, Google Translate, and it gives me for English-Russian:

    Peter-Rabbit and Others
    Питер-Кролик и другие

    Rabbit Peter and His Friends
    Кролик Питер и его друзья

That appears to match the book titles, so maybe it indicates that the translators just used Google.

George Orwell? John le Carré? Ernest Hemingway? John Steinbeck? Barbara Cartland?
