    Armida A4 Blue / Black

    So what do we think?

    http://www.armidawatches.com/collect...egory=22784636

Generally speaking, I like Armida's stainless divers. For the price, they're robust, use reasonable automatic movements and the case finish is usually pretty damn good. Never owned one, but a friend of mine has various models on rotation.

So the Blue/Black..... Personally I think copying the Deep Sea rehaut ring is a massive mistake. I can accept a homage, but that's edging too far into fake territory for me.

Bit too far I guess, only 2 pictures of the watch on site too? Can't see side of case to see HE valve? Pretty poor advertising imho. Better off buying a Seiko/Citizen/Hamilton/Tissot with a more original design at similar price imho.
Had a look at the rest of their stuff and didn't really like any of it :(

Cannot see much on the company website but Armida seems to get good reviews for various models around the web. The 2000m rating is quite impressive ! Personally, I like the blue/black colour and the spec is pretty good but this watch is not for me.

I really like the A1 42mm & 45mm versions. This on the other hand is sailing too close to the wind for me.

Well that looks familiar! The A6 looks quite clean and simple.. Preferable to the above but of course all subjective

This looks like the Kemmner/Wilson 2000m case
The dial is nice but the rest not so much.
Have a few Armida watches and happy with them.
My views are clear on these brands-prefer them to other cheaper established alternatives like Seiko etc.

Might as well copy the rehaut ring. They copied pretty much everything else. Just saying like.

Seems the consensus is they've got a bit too far with copying on this one. I'm still finding it hard to to convince myself I don't want one though.

I'd strongly agree with this. Definitely seems to be a step up in quality, case, bracelet, bezel, etc.

I own an Blue A9 which is a homage to 16600 but with sword hands and I absolutely love it. Especially now that the weather is getting better!

Yep, definitely Raj. I had a De Tomaso with the same case - I'd recognise it anywhere. It was built like a tank...

I love it, but then I like the similar Steinhart Forty Four too. Armida make quality stuff and Chris is a very helpful chap too.

Armida kit is great (it's made by the same factory that produces Helson watches). They set out to produce high-quality Rolex homages and so it doesn't make sense to criticise them for succeeding in this.

You can only buy direct from Armida in Hong Kong.

That's a shame as you've have to allow for import duty...

Looks like it would make a nice holiday watch

I don't like the reheat ring. Blue is nice, but it would look really good with a matching blue bezel.

That's the thing with a good copy homage, just too damn close to the original.
I did have a brass Armida once, liked it but this one is just not for me.

Not much originality about that "original gas escape valve"...

    Or much else really.

I like the reh whats it ring Mine just says ROLEX this tells you about the watch, Forgive me but I can't see what you think it is copying? My Invicta is a rip off totally of a Sub Mariner Bi Metal but with a Brietling logo. This watch I really like :-)

I've been curious about Armida watches for sometime and thought I might pick up one at some point but as nice as this one is in the picture, its way too close to the DSSD for comfort. It would need to be cheap.

Having got an Invicta that is a total rip off of a BiMetal Sub that I used to own. This smacks more of Seiko than a Rolex to me. My Invicta even uses a Brietling logo.

To be fair to the good people at Armida, their Blue-black only has two lines of text on the dial and not five, plus it does not have that coronet thing and has fatter text on the thinner bezel.

Clearly, not inspired by the D-blue then !

Why not just make that final step and buy a fake

There's a big difference between homage and fake, and if you don't know what it is, ask Eddie if you can buy one of his fake watches, and he'll explain it to you.

I like Armida, having owned some brass A1 in Pvd/steel/brass (one A8 too but didn't like it). And think the A4 has been nice and of some intrest, buy My oh My this version is too much. Hate it...to much of a look a like to me.

I didn't expect to be saying this after my slightly negative slant on Armida's new release, but I'm actually warming to it, to the point of considering one.
    Just that blooming rehaut ring......
