Thread: Brietling B-1 battery replacement

    Brietling B-1 battery replacement

I've had my B-1 for around 5 years now and it's been great but is in need of a new battery. So I thought I'd get it done at B-UK under their usual "Maintenance service" for £140. They've always been great with my Emergency for battery changes/servicing but are refusing to carry out the work I've requested and instead are insisting on doing the full service at a ridiculous cost of £500 due to the age of the watch. The watch works fine and being a simple quartz watch with a standard ETA movement, I think it's a bit much to ask to be honest. That's not far off their automatic servicing costs! It's not a watch I wear regularly and if I do, it's only for the odd evening out etc.

So, do anyone have any recommendations for somewhere that can change the battery and seals of my B-1 for a more sensible cost?

    Cheers

Robin Martin & Partners - http://robinmartin.co.uk/ - did mine for about half a Breitling 'mini service' cost.

Came back working, unscathed and with a pressure test result.

I'd have done it myself, but the back is a weird design to unscrew and I didn't want to risk scratching it.

Apologies for my delayed reply, I've been on holiday this past week or so.

Thanks for the links and tool offers. Whilst I could do it myself, it would be good to get it pressure tested etc, just for piece of mind and also as I'll probably be selling it on pretty soon.

    Cheers
