Omega Speedmaster Apollo 17 45th Anniversary

I was just wondering of anyone has heard anything official about this watch? Omega have been strangely silent on it and i'm struggling to even find a reference on their website. I think it looks great and managed to see a demonstration model at one of the Omega boutiques today which I reserved for delivery in September.

They will arrive in boutiques in July, at least in London. I am expecting mine then. They are LE and here's a pic I took from the boutique's own 'product bible' a while ago.

No idea if they will still take orders or if they are all sold out.

They did take my order today but expected delivery date is September apparently (in London). Looked stunning in the flesh.

    That's great! Well done.

Everyone has been pre-occupied with the Speedy Tuesday and this one has been a quiet/below the radar issue. I'm excited by this one but it is a marmite Speedy for sure. Some purists can't understand why 'racing dial' markings have made their way onto a Speedmaster Moonwatch.

Looks great. I would take this over Speedy Tuesday.

September for Omega probably will be more like Jan or Fed next year - they certainly do not rush to get new models out.

Agreed, but the store manager was pretty certain it would be available this year and quoted Sept/Oct!

I was told the 272 gold ones will most likely arrive first. But, until I get the call I don't believe anything!

Stunning watch. I love that crystal and the blue dial combination.

What is it Omega has against Apollo 17?

I really like the colourway, but those second markers are not for me...

    Here we go again.....
Feel free to call me a cynic.

Being serious/objective, I'm not a fan. All a bit bitty IMO. That gold and blue and image. But each to heir own and it is different.

I like the gold. I like the blue. I don't like the face on the sub dial. I'll stick with my blue gemini LE.

Think I'll pass and wait for the 46th anniversary model.

That's a bit cynical...next year will be the turn of Apollo 7 or 8

This is a bit under the radar. Not seen it before. Seems the LE Speedies come too thick and fast to keep up. The shiny blue dial is lovely but I'm not sure about gold highlights. Borderline gaudy for me. Price is quite spendy too!

For me, that is a seriously good looking watch. I think the blue and gold colour combo looks great.

Well this is clearly a divisive watch judging from the comments but overall seems to be quite well received. I for one am looking forward to this one!
