Please re-make it Eddie. It would be such a fabulous tribute.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Please re-make it Eddie. It would be such a fabulous tribute.

Jesus, I remember feeling gutted when these started hitting around £600 for a nice one, kicking myself for not buying one before they skyrocketed. Little did I realise.....
I briefly had one of these about 3 years ago when the going rate was £350!
I wonder if the bidding was genuine, or whether it was just schill bidding or alternatively trying to create a sale price precedent for a future re-sell.
Winning bid £1,550.00!

Fantastic....
Here's mine
'Ello, This my first post here for . . . . well, a very long time (old guy, new ID).
Just to say I am 'gobsmacked' by that eBay price - surely a shill? - My Smiths Diver needs an overhaul but only cost me £45 in 1987. No mil. markings on the back though.
I have a large collection of Smiths, and am often tempted to add another: there's a really sharp 9ct Astral (possibly on a genuine croc. strap) in a village jeweller's near me for £250. It has a 95 or 116 mvmt IIRC, is serviced, guaranteed, and in fact looks new. I never paid that much, way back in the "good old days", but it is and a touch tempting.
Anyway, nice to see there are folk who appreciate 'real' Smiths.
