Will an Everest or rubber be not do?
Has anyone tried this? I do like a rubber strap, but thinking my Zulu diver fetish may not cut it.
Will an Everest or rubber be not do?
Presumably would have the same awful gap as on the sub...
I think it won't work...

Im a 'no gap' person too. If a rubber is cut to make it fit the case perfectly then it looks more refined and quality to me. Like someone really made an effort. Gappy ones just look a bit like generic or aftermarket add ons.
What's the gap like from the front? It's not that big on the yachtmaster, does look like a big gap though from the rear on that sub.
Looks terrible around the lugs , doesn't work for me

I'm happy with an Everest on my GMT-Master...
I only ever wear straps, so I'm used to seeing a space between the strap and the case of the watch. In the above photos I see a straight smooth bit of rubber between two straight smooth bits of steel, all three neatly finished. What is the thing that is "terrible"?
I sometimes think that people have got so used to endlinks seamlessly joining bracelets to cases that when the gap is revealed between the straight bar that holds the strap and the curve of the round case, they get the same kind of pulse-quickening fright that Victorians felt when they saw an ankle peeking out from under a skirt.
Actually, doesn't look half bad on Oysterflex.
The space between case and strap is only a concern when the lugs are too long, otherwise it is natural to have some space. It would be boring if all straps were fitted.
Maybe Everest is the way to go.
Wow I love the blue Everest strap!

I wear my SDc on an oysterflexesque strap.
I don't mind the gap.
