It's apparently because PP believe that hacking the movement introduces a rate variation in the movement. I think there's only one that hacks (a regulateur annual calendar).
This has been covered before, and that was my response then too

Picked this up yesterday and very impressed with the quality. Surprised it does not 'hack' however it's easy enough to set the time with a bit of practice.
Found this review also. The guys bonkers. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6Uedx8p-amY

Very nice indeed, a versatile watch that is as much at home being a sports watch as it is being a dress watch. I couldn't get over how light it was, you almost forget that you are wearing it.
A lovely clear functional dial that really pops in strong sunlight, recommended for those who wear glasses.
Enjoy.
Looks great congratulations.
Have my name down for one and should hopefully pick up later in the year - this has heightened my excitement.
Looks like the same movement as the 5146

Wow nice congrats!!! Looks really nice.
The Time Travel version was not on my radar until I saw one side by side alongside the 5167.
I am patiently waiting for a Nautilus at the moment, if it comes off I was going to consolidate two divers for a 5167 however im very tempted to also put my 116520 on the chopping board to attain the 5164
There was one on here on the Friday threads a while back, a guy in Scandinavia as I recall, I haven't seen it for a while though. Personally, I prefer the normal 5167.
Anyone showing any interest in the new blue WG version - that looks a stunner.
The travel time is my unobtainable grail. Although I could get the cash for it there's no way I could justify a purchase to SWMBO unless we won a lottery
Out of interest what are the AD prices for the Aquanaut and Aquanaut Time Traveller?
I'm guessing that discount is a dirty word in a PP AD?
I think its £13,750 and £24,700
I hear some discount is poss on the Travel Time but not sure if thats correct. I guess the standard 5167 is impossible since "hot"

Congratulations on the Aquanaut, it's a lovely looking watch. Although I'm not that keen on haute horologie steel sports watches, this is no nicely executed I could make an exception. Enjoy it.

Beautiful watch. I'd love one of these! I'm a recent convert to rubber on a steel sports watch and these have to be the ultimate expression of the type :)
No chance whatsoever of a discount on the 5167 - even the Bangkok AD that was selling white dial 5711 for £13k a few years back wouldn't budge on the Aquanaut (or the blue dial 5711). Basically the less popular models that they need to shift in order to get more quota of the popular stuff they will discount on. In this vein you can get 10% off the travel time version but no more than that as its still quite popular. They will drop their pants on a Gondolo or one of the blingy ladies' Nautili as they don't sell many.

Love the 5164 but price and discounts now are awful, a few years ago you could get them for under £20K.
