Anyone know what slow worm this is?

    Chaps,

My tactical feline just brought this strange looking slow worm home. Pic(k) below. Can anyone tell me what genus it is, and, if possible, its genetic sequence?

    Thanks in advance

If you firmly grasp the end of its tail and give a sharp pull you will establish conclusively that it is a legless lizard if the tail breaks off and wriggles around the floor. The technical term for this practice exhibited by slowworms is autotomy.

It's completely harmless, and just wants to buy a nice watch. Anyone got an Explorer II going spare?

If it moves from side to side then it's a vindscreen viper.

Ah yes, that's the Sidney Snake (often known as a Hissing Sid) from Australia. Like most indigenous creatures from Down Under they are completely harmless and surprisingly affectionate. The chap down the pub I bought two from told me they make great family pets and both my kids have one in their bedrooms. They often get them out for a play when they have friends round.

Funny though that we haven't seen the neighbours cat since we got them, so I can only assume cats don't like them for some reason.
So clever my foot fell off.

    I think you're wrong; it's obviously a Colin.

Let's hope Alex won't show this thread to Derek it might upset him and irritate Colin.
