Whoop whoop, joined the club again this afternoon. I might do a box post tomorrow just to show the ridiculous size of the new Speedmaster kit!

    New Kizzi strap attached - it can be worn either of two ways - not sure which is best. The website has it with the case back visible, but photos from the Apollo era show them wearing it threaded with the case back covered by the strap;

Straight through like Edward E. Aldrin?

Or looped back through the spring bars like Vance D. Brand?

If we are showing the guys wearing the actual watches, a few images of Ed White wearing, well of course an Ed White.

Yes indeed, for on the outside of a spacesuit as well as in the module. Personally I prefer the Vance method as the watch sits slightly lower.

    What a frustrating evening.

My wife was out in the garden this morning when the postman tried to deliver mine. The postman put a card through the letter box saying that it had been left with a neighbour - but didn't say which one. Ive been along the road and knocked at every house - no luck!

The Kizzi straps look great, where did you lot get yours? I believe Buzz has it correct (he knows what he is doing!). He wouldn't want to lose his watch just because a spring bar popped out!

There's a link a few posts up where I asked the same question - I think Velorum posted it (might be on the previous page)

£50, so not cheap, but seemingly well made and they do look "the biz" !

EDIT - Curta beat me to it!

    Yes!

The package had been taken back to the sorting office and the postman had ticked the wrong box on the red card.

Oh well, a good opportunity to reacquaint myself with all the neighbours!

    Here it is:

    Great vintage look I think:

After trying it various configurations I prefer it this way:

It is super light and very comfy indeed - well worth trying.

That looks great Ian - basically just like mine but with a more worn Vintage look. I am also wearing it the same way after much faffing and trying other configurations. It's surprisingly complicated for a strap! Great photos!

    I think once or twice!

Liking these NASA Velcro straps guys. I'm going to try a vintage velcro like Ian ordered too. Never had one before as I thought it would be itchy/snaggy. But they look great, so got to try one! Will post a pic when it lands. Thanks for the steer.

The Kizzi Velcro is very supple, very comfortable and very authentic. It feels a bit less robust than the GasGasBones NASA style Velcro strap but that is less flexible. I like them both in different ways but both do feel like Velcro on the wrist. The GGB SPV1 is nylon with Velcro sewn on and beats them both for comfort.

The SPV3 is great value at £14

    Wearing mine today.

I like the Kizzi straps but I understand he is not making anymore?
I have sent him an email to enquire but not heard anything back.
I wanted to get the modern version as well as the white strap to go with my 'old velcro' version.

I bought mine on Saturday morning and it arrived on Monday, and the website didn't have anything marked as sold out.

Back to the website I go. When I last check there was a note saying he had stopped production.

Ach5 and I only ordered ours towards the end of last week so I would assume that he is still making them!

The white ones aren't available though according the website. Interesting to note that these are similar to GGB ones in that they have mounts sewn on to the top.

You are indeed correct gents, thanks for putting me right.
I have ordered a modern Velcro version.
    No white version though.
I think I will keep the new strap for the speedy Tuesday (when it eventually arrives that is)
I also have a gas gas bones version, that means I need another Speedmaster I guess!

Yeah, quite right! Too many Pisco Sours the evening before posting...

    - Edit -

I've corrected my post. Most GGB stuff is really good value, Carl is a better craftsman than businessman!

    The TZUK Speedmaster Thread

Just got a Kizzi vintage velcro today - don't like it TBH. Flimsy and not great stitching. Poor value for money IMHO.

Trying a vintage rally style on for max ventilation in this intolerable heat!
