I grew up there many moons ago and there wasn't much there then by way of cafes and I don't believe it's changed much since. The pubs aren't much cop either: The Kings Head is a Harvester, The Rose & Thistle some sort of other chain pub and the The Wheatsheaf which used to be a Friary Meux pub, is probably the best of a bad bunch.

You could always try The Lakeside or Bob Potter's other place, Potter's which is a few minutes down the road in Mytchett overlooking the canal.

Scant choices for decent food really.

Ah Lakeside at Christmas, Roger DeCourcy and that @$!* bear two years running, thanks for the memories GEC Marconi.

There's a Waitrose in Frimley proper, good sandwiches and salads!

Live he has one joke, which is the bear saying rude words, look at me, scarred for life, I'm still ranting about it 25 years later.

Bizarrely he (Roger not the bear) is also an agent, and represents Rick Wakeman, and David "Kid" Jensen.

Good luck eating in FG, you may well do better in Aldershit or Funborough.

This thread has reminded me of excruciatingly dull Sundays in Deepcut in the 80s.

I was based there for 12 months.

    It felt like 12 years.

Ah yes the Ancient Raj, as I recall it had big fat fibreglass pillars outside and was next to next to the motor spares place (very good independent, bet that's long gone now there is a Halfrauds rounds the corner). I had some good works meals there 25 years ago (God, 25...) but I don't think you can really take that as a current reference.

White Hart Pub - Not bad food
    Olivers Cafe - Always good

    They are both in Frimley

In Frimley Green The Nook or the bakers are ok for a snack. If you’re here overnight then short trip to White Hart Pirbright or The Swan at Ash
