There's even a barbers shop in St Andrews that offers free whisky with a short back and sides

Sorry to bring an old thread up, just interested in whether or not you got one of these in the end? and if so what do you think of it?

I am now at a point where i have the funds to get myself an automatic chronograph.
    My options are:
Speedmaster Reduced - concerned it will be too small.
Speedmaster Triple Date - concerned it's not as good as it looks as people tend not to rave about them
    Sinn 103 - Concerned it's too thick at 17mm.

All interesting (to me) watches to look at.

Anyone have any opinions on these or if you own one what are your thoughts?

Interesting watches for under £1500 hmm

this blows the budget by £150 but it's certainly got an interesting design philosophy and story behind it.

Or what about the Hamilton ventura? both in normal and XXL sizes - probably the most interesting looking watch for the price there is from a 'proper' manufacturer.

Other than that set up some filters on chrono 24 and spent the evening browsing. I while away hours doing this.

I don't have a triple date but it's high on my list, I tried on the Mk40 racing dial one and it looked and fit well on my wrist. I tried on the reduced and found it looked smaller than the Triple date for some reason. The Sinn 103 is a contender too, but like you I worry a little about height, but you can get them new for only a little bit more than a second hand Omega, though I think I prefer the styling of the Omega a little more. Here's possibly the only decent youtube review of the Triple date 3520.50 and one that really made me consider it.

    longines conquest pie pan.

not sure if you are a dressy guy but if so this is the one I would recommend. Old, classy, with a dial that you 'd probably never seen somewhere else before.

an alternative would be an omega constellation pie pan.

these watches are at your range but they would be 2nd hand as they re relatively old to find new.

That is definitely interesting. What's the story behind that?
