I've got a few, tried them on my 16610 for a while but I never bonded! Only works for Sean Connery.
This.
Though the best strap I've seen on that particular model Rolex (the only Rolex I'd realistically consider buying), is the bright orange Rubber B. It looks incredible. They also do a black one with a thin orange line down the middle that probably would look great for a little more subtle look.
I think the orange Nato looks great on your Explorer, it matches the GMT hand really well, but imho the Nato doesn't work with the Panerai maybe it's the colours on that Nato.
The Orange Rubber B looks great on 42mm polar Exp 2
Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
I'm Passenger and I'm a NATO addict, I expect to escalating my habit up to perlons in the not too distant future.
Fixed bar then fine. Anything else I don't see the point. The nasty cheap nylon makes expensive watches look cheap, most are scratchy and get sweaty in warmer climes.
They 'work' for some, but they are a no for me. Pretty much the same thoughts on rubber straps, can't stand them either
Ah now eulits I like.
I really like NATO straps, and the simpler Zulu even more, but...
The PAM should be on leather
The Explorer II would look fine on a more subdued NATO such as black, but IMHO Sports Rolex (without fixed bars ;) ) look best on the bracelet.
My Seiko and Vostok divers are all on Zulu or NATO though

Once upon a time, before I had actually tried to wear a watch on one, I thought I didn't like a NATO strap. Then this arrived...
I won't say we fell in love, but the next arrival wore equally well
But then I started looking for something that would wear flatter to the wrist
I prefer the perlon style, but either look great with any tool/diver

A big yes to both from me, particularly the Rolex on bright orange. I like how both versions dress down the watches and give them a more laid-back appeal.
On the waspish side note, I thought Action Man wore a comically oversided g-shock type watch?
The Rolex totally works, you got lucky with the shade of colour, it looks as if the watch came on the strap from the factory. But I guess I'm one of the few here that likes the Panerai, too - it infuses a bit of the much needed fun factor into it. Panerais (and some Paneristi, too) take themselves too seriously most of the time, and you chose just the right kind of strap to give it a completely different spin. It's what Daniel Wellington would possibly market if they had any actual passion for watches.
The rolex works, the pan doesn't. I would chosoe a little less flashy colours though, think you'll get bored pretty quickly of the emergency jacket orange
Each to their own, of course, but I'm afraid I'm one of those who dislikes NATOs intensely.
Having said that, I love the colour of that NATO on the Explorer - I think there was a photo on another thread of a Polar Explorer II on an orange Rubber B and that looked sensational.

I like the exp II pic, not so the panerai. It's making me wonder if the older 40mm polar exp II would look good on red.....

marchingontogether!
A yes for nato's, but a no for Panerai on nato
I think the Exp II looks surprisingly good!!
Yes with the Explorer combo but I think You can find a better combo for the Panerai.

I don't really like either one. The Explorer II looks much better on the bracelet or leather (that I've seen). I'm not one for highlight colour matching.
My niece tells me that they are Jack Willis colours. I thought that he used to play cricket for England.

They're growing on me. Two arrived today.
Perlon likewise...

NATO's or ZULU's are not the problem, it's the owners getting the combination right or wrong for that matter..
For me the Explorer looks like a guy wearing socks with sandals, neither are wrong - just not together! stick a black NATO on the Expo and it goes down to super cool..
Tried this little tag on various straps but a good old black NATO suits it well -
The Panerai looks nice and summery with that nato :)
Bit too much ORANGE for the Rolex I think.
After a Hirsch Liberty failed recently I tried my Voyager on one of Eddie's Natos which I'd taken the "extra bit" off, and to my surprise it works perfectly. I'd thought it might be too light and the head would flop about but it wears very well. I also removed Libertys from two other watches pending inspection and repair . . .

It took a while for me to like NATOs as I started off buying the cheap ones on eBay. Then I discovered both Eddie's and Maratac straps and haven't looked back as they are so much more comfortable.
I like the idea of the Explorer 2 on a NATO, but not the bright orange one. Maybe one of Eddie's 'Bond with a twist'? Here's mine on my PRS18Q.

I put my wear watches on NATO's to protect the bracelets and also find them practical.
I hope the pic loads as it's my first attempt!!

There's the risk of 'NATO rash' on the case back but a sticker or bit of tape solves the issue.
I don't wear many NATOs but I like this combo.
Excellent! I've just found some great photographs here: http://www.iwm.org.uk/history/10-inc...al-camel-corps
By the way, the drink is a Coco Loco
