Not a bad return from the $99K it went for on eBay if it sells!
Interesting watch, seems that the deep pockets and desire for collectors to get the very best is driving amazing asking prices on these pieces.
I find it interesting to follow while having a coffee on a break time, it is a bit like Ferrari's of the 50's and 60's as I always had a massive interest in these cars and it is amazing what they are changing hands for now.
Unlike Ferrari's it makes me wonder what similar watches are out there undiscovered or not brought to the market yet.
Weird world, but interesting one.
Wonder what it would have made on eBay without the $99k restriction. Be gutted if you thought it was worth $300k and were sat there in the last minute waiting to stick $200k on it. I'd say the seller was pretty bummed too when they found out about the cap. Obviously someone tried to outbid the winning bidder as it went for the maximum.
damn eBay... hasn't done anything good in the last 10 years
Thanks for the link.
Very interesting story.
Would be great to learn about its history!
As already mentioned I bet that the original Ebay seller must be gutted.
"Only manually wound dive watch ever made by Rolex or Tudor." Interesting. Still crazy price though.
