    Your dealer recommendation.

    Prestons Rolex in Leeds.

I would like to recommend Prestons for an excellent experience.

I only went in for a quick visit, then I ended up drinking a cup of tea with Andrew "The Boss" He is a great chap. A true Connoisseur. His team was great too. I can recommend to you if you want to buy a Rolex or Tudor.

What did you buy in return for the drink?

Do you think that the principle of reciprocation dictates that one always purchase a Rolex in return for a cup of tea?

Absolutely. And if you are offered fresh coffee, a precious metal watch is the norm. I dread to think what happens with biscuits.
Nb: people are always complaining about rude ADs, are we now complaining about polite ones too?

Ah well that's that then, the die is cast. Cup, saucer and napkin.

    Rolex branded, of course.

You'd hate to think if I was offered a Belgium chocolate.

Well I was in my local AD on Friday and the owner was drinking a lovely cup of coffee. I wasn't offered anything so I left without buying the £35k Skydweller in the window!

To be fair, I was always going to be leaving without the Skydweller, it just makes for a better anecdote!

I bought a Rolex this week without so much as a cup of coffee or a biscuit. I think this justifies a villain thread.

Sorry - difficult to always tell intent from text but I wasn't being sarcastic toward your post, I should have quoted who I was actually referring to (now edited...)

My favourite's Earl Grey with a spot of milk.........if that's what I was offered I`d feel obliged to spend a few £K on a watch

I lived to tell the story in a forum near by some time ago a small number of people were buying watches from each other and sometimes "paying out on installments or when we could". Trust among people that we never saw each other but gentlemen ( like many in here i dealt with).
One of them is Marcj and i would buy a watch from him anytime.

It's fine. Don't worry about it.

If you are in Leeds give me a shout and I'll buy you a cup of tea.

If you're ever in my neck of the woods, feel free to pop in for a cup of Typhoo, or Maxwell house, with no obligation to buy any of my watches.

Twice whilst I've been in Winsor Bishops in Norwich they treated me, on the first visit to champagne, whilst handing in a watch for service. The second time to collect said watch, me & the good Lady were treated to champagne

just to echo the OPs comments i also find prestons to be a top class AD!

Not rude or stuffy like so many other ADs I've visited and they actually really know their stuff.

....now back to your all tea chat boys.

I recommend Tarrats (http://www.tarratt.co.uk) in Sheffield. Graham sold me an Explorer 1 39mm (2016 edition), in July last year after a bit of hunting - on my birthday. Great experience and good to see a friendly independent thriving, lets keep it that way - good selection of Rolex and Patek on display. The champaign was appreciated as well!

Yes, the independent ADs tend to be the best, in my experience. But then I avoid the bigger chains, too impersonal and bureaucratic.

Ditto, but for the Leicester branch, excellent service, friendly and knowledgable of their brands. Always a good display of Omega, Rolex and Patek Philippe
