What for? To Buy from or to sell to?
Does anyone have any recommendations for second hand watch specialists in this area?
I see Tempvs have about 200 watches on chrono24 and are based in Hatton Garden. Anyone have experience with those guys?
Thanks

I'm guessing to buy from?
Could try Hackett Watches? https://www.hackettwatches.co.uk/hw/contact Dominic is a sound guy to deal with.
I would advise to be careful in hatton garden. I was looking for engagement ring there and have browsed plenty of dodgy watches (as well as fair few ones which are fine). Price wise, they are a bit better than your average bricks mortar dealer in posh locations and you can bargain hard.

Try an 'Advanced Search' for Hatton Garden using the 'Search title only' option...
Sorry, yep, to buy.
I'll do a search, cheers.
Any thoughts on Tempvs, in particular?
They had a poor condition omega soccer timer watch in the cabinet which they couldn't identify and then proceeded to straight out ask £3k. They also have a blancpain leman flyback chrono in poor condition but cheap at 3.5k. Plenty of ok condition OP, datejust and subs, some with papers at moderate to high prices.

I don't have any experience buying directly, but I spent a lot of time working in the area and window shopping and just generally understanding the atmosphere and how things work and in my opinion, I wouldn't buy a watch in HG. A diamond, yes, but the watches always tended to look tired and overpriced. There is always the exception but I would tend to go for other options pre-owned from a dealer in London.
Fair enough, sound advice.
Does anyone have any recommendations for stores in London to source pre-owned Rolex, Omega etc (Hacketts aside, which I'll check out), or is there another generally approved area with a few places to browse?
Sorry, I'm not clued up on the London watch market.
This place is good: http://bfy.tw/BQGh
;-)
I bought my latest watch from a dealer in Hatton Garden, but it was new and nicely discounted. Slightly different to what you're after.
Try the link I sent you, I know of quite a few people who have purchased from Dominic and have nothing good things to say about him and his service. He may be able to help you.
Hackett is definitely the exception for one but try these as London options:
• Dave Duggen
• Watchclub
• Watchfinder
• Watches.Co.UK - Online only in Chiswick
• Dream Watches - Online only
• Austin Kaye
• Armour Winston
• Blowers - Based in Hull but good online dealers
There must be a few more, especially online only, but these are the ones I know of and would trust that have a shop, even though they are a premium when it comes to price.
Angrydog, I am Hull based but have never been. I stumbled across it online a few months ago. Along with Segals, it is a pretty good luxury watch market which is surprising!
