Went to the bootsale this morning!

Unfortunately no watches but bought 11 sets of guitar strings for £20 with a free capo thrown in!!!

Also bought a Solar Bowie knife, I reckon the antler grip is plastic though!, Again, £20 was the price paid!

It says SOLAR on the ricasso but very shallow!!

Also bought a small quadcopter that's amazingly agile!! (£4 paid!)

Got my lad a Metabo cordless drill for £30, It came with four batteries but two are very powerful and two are weaker!!

Does anyone else still go to the Bootsales?, I've had some great bargains over the years

A President? I have one that used to belong to Gordon Giltrap, featured in his book and signed by him. Didn't pay a car boot sale price for it though!

    Brilliant catch!

it is custom that, on The King's Day (coming Thursday!), everybody is allowed to sell his/her stuff on the street in the city center. We call it Kleedjesmarkt, roughly translated into Carpet's Market. I have found a worn Seiko 6105-8001 a few years back for less than 75 GBP. It needed a full restoration at Richard Askham's, but it was worth it.

    Great haul John!

I went to a 500 stall flea market today in the US and found nothing.

    What a gyp!

    Well done on your finds.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Hee hee!! I old enough to have nearnt inches/feet/yards etc but it's nice to have the foreign method of measuring too!!, I actually found a 24"/600mm square at the bootsale too some years ago, It was a couple of quid and was also made here in Sheffield!!

    Hi southerner

I had one of the small ones as a kid, Every pther shot hit my thumb, It was like a banjo for months solid and throbbing like crazy!! I threw it away in anger hundreds of times only to go and retrieve it!!, No idea what happened to to it eventu7ally, I may have launched it then finally walked away...

    DAMN!!

There's nothing more demoralising than walking around a huge bootsale/market and not actually find anything

Hope you do good next time and find another Roley or Omega

I was pleased with this find, it needs a bit of a clean but will come up nicely.

I'm in the process of stripping down and rebuilding this vintage Stuart steam engine, the parts are all measured in imperial units.

    Done nice finds guys

Last year I happened across a car boot in my local supermarket car park, I paid £7 to two different stall holders for everything. Some of the bits are of no real use to me but were bundled together.
