    Newbie looking at smiths

Hi I have just joined and was looking at a smiths special to start me of and then got pulled into the Everest thread and now getting a headache trying to decide which one to go for, what really got me was the Everest with the tan straps, totally changed my mind from the special.

So any help on these two watches?

    Thanks

    Robert

I'm not trying to be obtuse, but what watch do you mean by the "special"?

Agreed - my personal view is that the Everest is better than the Vintage in almost every regard, apart from not having a pair of boobies on the dial...

Can't go wrong with the Everest, fantastic on bracelet, leather or NATO.
Such a versatile watch which you never tire looking at and a bargain to boot!

Take a look at the Smiths Military. I've owned and sold a couple of Everest's so I think the 29A will be my next purchase from Timefactors.

I would agree with the above comments regarding the Everest.

These are amazing value and you really cant go wrong, if for some reason you decide to flip it after a while then they are easy to move on. Someone is always after one!

Get the Everest, it's a great take on a classic design and dead easy to move along.

I'll have to disagree slightly about the bracelet; it's undoubtedly good quality but makes the watch overly bulky, but no big deal because it looks great on a huge range of leather straps.

As Papa Hotel said the bracelet adds too much bulk imo but makes up with a gorgeous acrylic crystal.

    Tan straps you say?

DiModell jumbos on some Smiths. I'd go for a 29B over an Everest every time.

The 29b is a superb watch which I enjoy hand winding, if you look at the 29b just be aware of the long lug length.
