Thread: Internet radio suggestions

    Internet radio suggestions

I quite often listen to background music in my office of a night shift....
A long time favourite is Jan Van Veen's Candlelight radio- a Dutch easy listening station.
Just wondering if there are any other recommendations?

I have never thought of listening to the radio over the internet.
Without looking, I would have assumed that nowadays every station has an online feed?
    Off to start searching.........

+1 for Soma. Secret Agent and Illinois Street Lounge are my favourite channels.

I enjoy Paradise Radio... loads of quality music of all genre. I use Chromecast Audio through a Ruark R1, or Sonos through my hifi.

I'll second Rod's recommendation for Paradise. High bitrate options too, so decent quality.

I listen to Radio Paradise a lot.

I also like (in no specific order):

    KCSN Los Angeles.

    Softrockradio.net

    Aardvark Blues.

    Smooth Jazz Tampa (320kps)

    Waxtrax

I dip in & out of Psychomed.gr (a high bitrate) as well.

Radio Swiss Classic is excellent for advertisement-free with the minimum of commentary.

One of our favourite Sunday lunchtime programs is Memorias from the Cuba radio station, Radio Rebelde. Lot's of Cuban and latin music from the 30s, 40s and 50s. 6am - 9am local time.

KoolFM when I need my Jungle/D'n'B fix,
    back2backfm when I'm feeling funkier,
Radio London for the 1000-1300 Robert Elms show to keep abreast of things capital related.

I use My Tuner app on my iMac, but it keeps crashing, I listen to BBC Radio 2 when I'm at work, its enjoyable, and helps keeping my tinnitus at bay.

I now use the BBC Radio 2 widget which is more reliable.

Just one other thought for when you're skiing, David. Austrian radio station FM4 is well worth a listen. They do quite a bit in English as well, if I remember correctly.

If you like 6music try FIP brilliant French station. Very eclectic mix of music, anything from classical straight Funkadelic, then Zep than jazz. Exceptional stuff.

Thanks to this thread I've been listening to Radio Paradise this evening. Great tracks from the likes of Marley, Zep, Doors, Squeeze, Patti Smith, Suzanne Vega, Norah Jones, New Order, Costello. Love it!
