Double post.
Any love on here for the CAW211P ?
Following the Watchfinder thread I had a good browse on their site and was surprised to note not a single example for sale.
A couple of the very similar looking 2009 LE models.
They can't be that rare as most ADs have them in the window.

Double post.
It’s a great watch. I bought one on a bit of a whim from SC, it’s since become one of my favourite chronographs. Love the dial, square case, proportions and that it’s so unique in design:

I've never seen One 'in the wild either'.
Maybe they're a slow seller ?

It's one of my favourite watches. I so nearly bought one, but then I did the conventional thing and got a Speedy Pro instead. Part of me regrets that decision. Gray dealers like Chronext have them for about £3200, which is more palatable than the £4500 rrp.

Really lovely watch, albeit with quite a high RRP (relative to other TAG stuff).
I'd say: get one if you like them.
I like it but its a 'one day' watch, I'll get round to trying it one day but its not that high up on my list.
I tried One on in the Tag Pavilion at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed (I also tried the latest Monza re-issue).
I loved the way the Blue Face changed in the light and the curved Two edges on the Crystal.
Looking down your arm towards the wrist the Side Profile (with Left Handed Crown) looks really modern and Avant Garde, yet the dial gives you a real Vintage feel.
I think back then they were £4450, they're £4650 now.

Still a lot cheaper than an Original !
I paid £2800 from Chronext.... took a while to arrive, but couldn't argue at the price
This thread has rather rekindled my desire :0

I think that they do not show up on SC or the usual dealer sites because it is one of the truly iconic keepers.
Anyone buying one is buying a piece of watch history as such and would probably look at it as a permanent fixture in the collection. Certainly not rare but not sure how big a seller it is, not everyone likes a square watch.
D.
I suspect a number of the buyers aren't 'WIS'', but car enthusiasts, as the Monaco is one of the watches that has entered the 'Pistonheads consciousness'.
This is, of course, due to McQueen's iconic role in the film 'Le Mans', and the marketing done by Heuer and then TAG Heuer. (Marketing based on genuine use by those in the racing world, I might add.)
That's why the OP was able to try on the Monaco at a dedicated stand at the FoS.
Would explain why quite a few people who buy it have it as the watch they wear everyday and don't think about it other than when they need to know the time, or perhaps when they admire it in an idle moment.
There is always the calibre 11 vintage 're issue like mine
