Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Congratulations indeed!!
Well done indeed.
I remember his amazing photos from the my early days here.
I'm an avid follower of his blog: https://blog.mingthein.com
His work is inspiring.

Splendid news
Well done Ming! a very clever, highly intelligent man.... I often wondered what became of him.
Thanks for the link to his blog Ralphy, some great camera work and very readable too.
Good luck to him in his new job.
I hope this means the end of the previous Hasselblad strategy of:
Taking a Sony camera.
Putting a wooden hand grip on it.
Increasing the price by 500%.
I sometimes wonder what Ming Thein's contribution was to Jaeger-LeCoultre's Gyrotourbillon ...

The lad done well! Good on him too.

Good for him! I read some of his early blogs and reviews, talented chap :)
I (sort of) knew that man! Well done to him.
You're not too far off with that comment Tinker. A fair few of his ideas were 'borrowed' by watch companies.
As for this new role, it will be interesting to see how he gets along. His former life was in the corporate world, so in that respect he'll be familiar with it. Hopefully he can contribute appropriately and not end up banging his head against a brick wall....
Well done Ming!
An incredibly talented chap at many disciplines and the appointment is fully deserved.
Cheers,
Neil.
Nice one. I was thinking about him the other day. He arrived on the TZ forum like a supernova - zero to tons of posts in a nanosecond - then disappeared off the face of the forum. Always interesting posts. Hope he enjoys the new gig.
Every so often I had wondered where he had gone, and looked him up!
Before my time, but really glad for the guy, God speed!

Come on the real question we all want to know is, what Watch did he buy himself to celebrate.
God , he was established on here way back when I joined ! Good to hear he's ok

Oh wow, I have been following his blog for a long time as a Leica Photographer, great to see him get such a fantastic position. I always loved his watch photographs too.
A talented chap, and good to see that being rewarded.

WOW!
Ming is a blast from the past!!
Glad he's doing well
I seem to recall that he had something to do with racing too! (F1 maybe)..

Well those Swedes certainly need all the help they can get.
Probably the best photographer, with a blog, on the internet.
