    Heads Up - Watch Box....

    .....and cheeky SOTC.

Whilst googling "watch boxes" on Sunday AM I found this from M & S.

It arrived today and is fantastic value at £15. The wood finish is great quality. It's a bit low rent inside but is fine for what I need it for.

Like it, nice collection as well. That is just the sort of box I should have bought, would have stopped the collection at 3 & saved me a bit of cash lol.

Haha, this is funny, whatever works ay.

Thanks OP, I've ordered one - saves my watches knocking together in my safe tray.

Do people feel happy using a wooden box? I get nervous that the watch will get marked, so I buy leather...or soft plastic...boxes.

This, and the fact that I am surfing internet via mobile device (cant see pics as well as on my laptop) is the only thing stopping me from buying one.

With a little bit of DIY and some nice material placed inside would keep watches safe from any marks.

The wood doesn't touch the watches

I received one of those as a Christmas gift, found that the pillows are to big for my watches with bracelets (adjusted for my 7 inch wrist).

Will probably do that although as others have pointed out. It's a static watch box not a travel case.

I see many more pics of watches on rocks/the ground/fence posts which make me cringe...

I agree ;/! The worst is seeing a watch placed on a rock beside the coast. How can anyone do that.

Nervous about wood touching metal? I'm not that precious about any of my watches.
It's just a matter of time...

My watch sits on the wooden beside table so I'd have no issue using a wooden box and that looks decent value. Are the cushions soft, i.e. Suitable for watches sized pretty small ?

    Box looks nice.
I keep my half dozen in a drawer. How many put their watches into a safe?

I am a bit reluctant to let a wooden box touch metal; especially gold which is so soft. Wood can scratch and mark a watch, as plenty of people will have experienced. I think I would at least line the box with chamois leather or something soft.
Incidentally, I would have thought that one of the most common causes of damage is knocking against a door frame. Far greater force of course, but with valuable watches, why take a risk? I would line the box, even some felt and a bit of glue should be fine.

    Heads Up - Watch Box....

Looks good value, just ordered. My watches have hit enough door frames that they won't mind touching a watch box by accident.

Thank you to watchmad for the head's up

Why take the risk? Because my watches were bought to be worn - I like the fact they pick up a few marks which displays their use. I can't see how some wood is going to adversely affect my steel watches, never mind my 18k ones. I do appreciate that this hobby brings out the best and worst of OCD behaviours but not using a wooden box, or wanting to line it with Chamois just seems so far removed from enjoying my watches, I'd rather not bother.
It's just a matter of time...

    Heads Up - Watch Box....

    I might start a poll.

    Would you rather:

    Touch wood?

    Or

    Touch cloth?

It's a squeeze. My 6.75 watches fit the soft cushions. The are soft on the middle and stiff on the edges which creates a bit of protection.

After a night out on the beer I have often nearly touched cloth.

Still a little new round here but isn't the major problem that it only has space for 3 watches?

I collected mine from M&S and handed it straight back for a refund.....I bought in haste.

That type of cushion I find too big for my watches and the compartments are not wide enough to lay a watch on its side.

I already have an outstanding order for 4 boxes at a total of £13.48 which will suit my needs better.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LSG22...051_TE_3p_dp_1

I can lay my watches down, the boxes are padded and the cushions are adjustable by taking out wadding.

'Buy in haste, repent at leisure'....Ho-Hum.

Great if you have 8 watches and none on leather with deployant which don't lie flat.

Great price but bulky for one watch. Nice as a travel case.

Not really, will make me think twice before buying number 4, although "wear one, store three"

Very true, but none of my watches are leather with deployant. Only trouble is, I would need about fifteen-twenty cases for my whole collection!

Returned mine. Cushions were huge and felt like it was only worth £15. The wolf one I have for about £40 is much better although it does 6 watches I will keep an eye out for a 3 watch roll

Looks very much like the boxes etc constantly being flogged at Camden market.
