    Sorel Boots / Leather Boots

    Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some relatively lightweight/flexible leather boots for work. I work in Facilities so needs something that look good with smart jeans but also hardy enough moving stuff around. (I have seperate safety boots so they don't need to be rated, unless anyone does smartish brown leather safety boots?)

I'm used to the hiking side of boots (Soloman, Scarpa etc) but most, if not all are too heavy for everyday work, and a bit clunky.
I have a pair of Scarpa Primitive Lite trainers, which are very comfortable but not the most durable being more trainer rather than boot although in a mid-boot style.

I've come across Sorel boots, they seem a bit more lifestyle orientated but look quite lightweight and flexible.

Any experience with Sorel? Other ones I've been recomended are Timberland. The budget is £100ish.

    Ta, Rob

I had a pair of the above Sorel boots.i got them in a big sale .They were very comfortable and light and easy to wear ,only down side is that the sole wore out quickly .I go throught footwear quickly due to being quite heavy and walking a lot

I have half rubber/half leather ones and they are great for winter sleet and snow when I travel to europe. Have a look at Merell brand as well https://www.amazon.co.uk/Merrell-EPI...C879VKDVCJ47AY

    I use these:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Shoes/Mer...ell+mens+boots

    they're chuffin' brilliant.

If they are comfy on your feet they are very, very versatile. Good for cycling, walking, work etc.

They're so good I had had my first pair for only a day before I went to buy a second pair. Merrell Moab Rovers I think the name is.

Thanks guys, I have given the Sorel boots a go, I like the look of the Chukka boots mentioned though as a replacement for my brown leather shoes.

Well they arrived today, not only were they very wide fitting, they were not smart enough (to similar to walking boots) so I have booked an exchange for some Dr.Martens Sawyer Boots:
