Thread: Date Justs - wrist pics please

Date Justs - wrist pics please

I'd like to see some wrist pics of different Date Justs please.

Im wondering if it's going to be a case of the three bears:

Date Just 36 - slightly too small

Date Just II - slightly too big

possible new Date Just 41 (same as the current Bi-metal) - just right!

    Thoughts & pics please.

It's just a matter of time...

41 will never be just right for a datejust. Sports watch size on a dress watch = too big. 38 is fine 36 too but 41 stretching it too far imho

36mm is the correct size IMO - anything bigger in this style of watch just looks wrong.

36mm is perfect for this type of watch regardless of wrist size. As is often stated, Tony Soprano rocked a 36DD with ease. The DJ2 looks reduculous imo and I can't see a 41mm looking any less daft.

On the odd occasion... I have stolen my wife's 36mm DJ. For the days you just need a bit of bling.

For a long time I had considered the DJ to be just a little too small and told myself this every time I tried one, having said that I've never once thought that the watch looked small on anyone else. More recently I've come to the conclusion that it's actually the perfect size and this model with it's silver grey dial helps to spread out the watch which is also helped by the 20mm lug width and the height of the watch to make it well proportioned.

Is that an after market dial? Or an older DJ? Not seen one like that before

    Current model... jubilee dial.
You need to scroll pretty far down the list of DJ models on the Rolex website to find it though !

    EDITED: found it- https://www.rolex.com/watches/dateju...6234-0122.html

Thank you for all the pics/responses so far.

Well I've been wearing the DJ2 for the day so far, and it's amazingly comfortable, and a very good size - but maybe it's pretending to be something it isn't. It's at least the size of a Sub, but with significantly nicer lugs. The only thing I'd prefer is a very very slightly bigger crown - it's also very shiny, more so than I expected, with the all polished case, bezel and centre links. I might try the 36mm in a few days and see how it compares, but I might need an extra link in it for better comfort, as the bracelet is slightly smaller than the DJ2's.
It's just a matter of time...

Looks like I should have waited for the DJ41 in steel - oh well, maybe I'll get one on release.

The 36mm is perfect for this watch, I have had my Datejust for 2 years and its still here :)

Had Day Dates as well that are perfect at 36mm. Currently this one..

This is stunning, I want!! I love linen dials, if you ever want to sell......

36mm is the correct size for a DJ. Anything else is an appeal to fashion.

    Some of those are
lovely.... do the circular numbered dials have a particular name ?

    cheers

Most of those like right on the respective wrists, but being close to 8 inches it might not be the same look.

When I wore my old 16014 my brother, the one I bought a 14060M COSC for, asked why I was wearing a girls watch - the cheeky bugger!

The newer 116200's do look a little bigger though

If you have "man wrists" the sweet spot should be about 39mm - go Explorer!

I can't quite see the newer Explorer as a purchase. I loved the older version, and have owned many over the years - an Ex and a mate still have a couple of my old ones too. The 36mm looked perfect, but slightly too small on my wrist.

OysterQuartz looks great! I'd like to see a new one.

Blue dial DJ looks amazing. I went for the Roman's on the 116200 though as I've never owned that dial before.
