    Seiko Bell-Matic

This arrived the other day and I'm really delighted with it. I've been after a mechanical alarm for a while, and also a steel cased watch with a gold face. So this ticks both those boxes. It's the ideal companion for my Seiko Pogue.

Anyway I've done a video to demonstrate how it works including how to set the day reasonably quickly. There's a quickset date but you have to keep going backwards and forwards past midnight to advance the day.

    Another great video Dan.

Lovely looking piece. Not sure that it would wake me up though!

    Thanks Ian.

After doing a bit of internet research on mechanical alarm watches I've come to the conclusion that you either get a nice loud ding noise with minimal vibration feel, or you get more of a buzz on the wrist with less audible volume.

So I think with this one you either need to place it on an upside down tea tray, or wear it in bed. I will report back once I've completed trials!

    Ooh, they're quite a rarity aren't they?

It would be nice to see pics of other people's Bell-Matics as there seems to be a wide variety of case/dial/movements.
