Wonder what happened in the previous few seconds.
Could only see the actual crash on that link.
It's a beautiful car - presumably it'll be fixed regardless of cost.

Such a shame - such a beautiful car.
Strange crash too - he was going in more a less a straight line.
Just listen to it here

Other than that, it was a properly brilliant day.
I was blown away by the Matra Simca MS670C - Amazing V12 scream and very very fast - 1:14's lap times.

Looked to be braking on an odd line approaching the right-hander.
Hopefully repairable.

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
Hope he is alright and not injured.
Car will be fine and repaired by MSO, damage to one of the F1 road car's looked worse than that and it was totally repaired and sold recently.
These things are meant to be driven and "hats off " to those who do without being fearful of doing so.
Set the controls for the fence on the left.
I hope he is alright. I'm sure the car will be brought back to full glory.
Of all the F1 GTRs this is one of the least important historically and it was barely a scratch in real terms, although it will probably cost tens of thousands to repair. Still, it's only petty cash to Nick who is a thoroughly nice bloke with the usual laddish passions, and who fortunately appears to be unharmed.
Popular rumour has it that it was brain fade that caused the accident - life goes on.
Great to see these machines being driven even with the potential risks and that Nick Mason was unhurt.
Interested to hear Steve Sutcliffe state that the car was converted by McLaren themselves to road spec, I thought that Lanzante carried out all McLaren race to road engineering work.
Shame but it doesn't look that bad I'm sure it'll be fixed up in no time .. loving that f40 in the video too

If you look in the background you may see me running away, he was coming in hot enough that he might have got airbourne but as usual the Goodwood tyres did their job . It was quite a bump but Nick was fine and seemed very sanguine about it. The front splitter and some sort of airbox, maybe a brake duct, came off and the rear near side wheel was at a funny angle.
You should see Rowan Atkinson's F1!!!! He totalled that and it was put back on the road at the cost of.....

Thinking along the lines of *Mason* *Drummer* *The Wall*...
Kidding aside. Luckily he escaped from this. Could have ended wrong. Afaik this is not the first McLaren that has been shortened by its owner. I think that Rowan Atkinson had an accident or two, three with his McLaren as well - and had the car rebuilt by the factory.

I really want to go to goodwood. There can't be many places in the world where you get to see these cars driven all in one place.
What surprised me was that it was during a high speed demo, not a race.
Chatted to him and Dario earlier that day, I say chatted, he was disappointingly monosyllabic. Perhaps he was bored of joe punters coming up and chatting to him.
Well, last night on the way home, eastbound on the M20, I was overtaken by R533 OGF - one of the last F1s made. That has to be a very rare sight on public roads these days. This car was sold last year and there was speculation as to whether it would break the £10m mark - https://www.goodwood.com/grrc/road/n...eak-10million/
