Interesting read about what happens when the Queen dies

Quite a long read but a fascinating description of what will happen in the UK when HRH passes. Right down to the tiniest detail.

    https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...-london-bridge

It will be interesting to see how the traditions of the deaths/funerals of monarchs that are very old fashioned (even for the last time it happened in 1952) will sit alongside the social media run hyperkinetic way of the world now or in the next few years.

A fascinating read - thanks for posting it. I'm 'agnostic' about Royalty, but my first TV memory was the solemnity of Churchill's funeral.

I fear for the Royalty once/if Charles III inherits the throne................

He won't be king for long (or even at all), if they are sensible about it.

So, I presume we are to take it that HM Queen is not well and this is (part of) a process of mass preparation...

    ** edit **

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............... and I have just realised that the rather unusual criticism of Prince William is part of a process too. I wondered where the criticism suddenly came from; he's been so popular so far. It wasn't just a single media outlet suddenly criticising him with such a consistent voice. Why now, why so sudden, why so consistent, and why so controlled (surprising un-excessive for the UK media)? I think someone with influence is warning him. And I reckon he's gonna be the next king.

Yes, yes, sounds like a conspiracy theory. Maybe I'm reading more into it than is there. Make up your own mind.

Within 10mS of this event, Nicolarse Witchell will be on looped repeat droning on and on and on on BBC news as usual for anything royal.

I've just bought series 1 of the Rockford Files to get me through the media nightmare.

Hopefully it won't be on a Friday night like Diana so the football schedule is cancelled.

All this talk is almost treasonous. Let's all wish for a very long life for Her Majesty.

Interesting read about what happens when the Queen dies

When they say "10 days of national mourning" , how many days national holiday will we need for that to happen?

Oh I've nothing against her quite the contrary and wish her many more years. Just dreading the resultant media frenzy when the inevitable does happen...wonder if I should get series 2 in as well just in case?

Lots of forelock tugging and obsequious reporting for a week .The vast majority of people will say thats a shame and get on with their life ,they wont be wearing black armbands and weeping though iam sure there will be some competitive mourning and fake outrage from the tabloids

I worked at an editing place where the TV obits for the top brass of the royal family would get periodically refreshed to keep them current. Quite creepy.
