I bought a PAM048 (wedding watch) and 2007 Navitimer Montbrilliant (first watch bought with wages) new.
Can't see myself ever selling them.
Also don't see myself buying anymore new watches.
Since joining the forum I've bought 2 watches a Tintin (from a friend) and G-shock (from sales corner). Actually, may sell those in future. To date never sold a watch but I'm adamant not to keep watches that don't get wrist time, so if I buy more I'm gonna have to sell at some point.

I know it says "1867-1992" on the dial but I bought this new in 1993 to celebrate my boy being born. Has had a recent major refurb but is now (almost) as good as new.

That's good to hear, and how is the watch doing?

Ones bought new from an AD that I still own:

    Casio:
    Numerous G-Shocks

    Rolex:
    SD16600
    14060M COSC
    WG Daytona
    Deep Sea

    Omega:
    2531
    2254
    Globemaster Bi-metal
    SMP Rio Olympics
    Planet Ocean 2500D Orange
    X-33 Skywalker

    Tudor:
    Ranger

    Bremont:
    Terra Nova

    Ventura:
    BMW
    BMW Z watch

    Eddies:
    Speedbird GMT

    Patek:
    5711

Those ones I've bought new and still own (too many have gone over the years), but the vast majority of my collection have been picked up used, or LNIB but not direct from an AD.

Although I go through some fits and starts, I'm far from a flipper.

The only watch I've bought from new and kept 8 years now is my sinn 556. I have other watches I've kept longer but they are all vintage pieces bought used or given to me.

What a very, very fine selection of watches ! I would love to have all but two of these in my small collection.

Thanks for asking, this now works great. Last time I checked it was accurate to a couple of seconds per day.

    Regards

I got this new in December 1999.

Actually it was a gift from a generous but sadly demented ex-girlfriend.

I wore it more or less every day until I registered on here, at which point I started acquiring other watches and now it rarely gets an outing. It's a nice old thing though and is still in remarkably good condition bearing in mind the punishment it's had over the years.

Still have all the bits for it including the purchase receipt (from a time when I had no idea you could ask an AD for a discount - still, it wasn't my money...)

Same here, but mine's over 17 years old now. Won't sell it as my Daughter once said that she'd like it one day. I rarely wear it, but I'd not sell it.

I also have a Zenith flyback chronograph. Owned from new since 2003, I've thought about letting it go, but don't seem to be able too 😁

Also an Omega AT in flashing blue. I'd let that go without too much provocation.

This is the only one I own from new... Glad I did it with the full AD experience. Something everyone should do in their WIS journey once.

Even better is its now becoming a not to often seen favourite!

    And from online sources...

Both shown here on original straps. Both now on colourful nylons!

Piaget Perpetual Calendar 15958 - about 25 years
Rolex GMT Master II - about 10 years
    Sinn U1 - about 4 years
Magritte Moana Pacific pro - about 3 years

Have a couple of others which have had for just over a year but dont think they really count yet.

I've only still got a gshock, an SKX013 and a Vostok that I got brand new.
Lots of my other watches I've had for a long time but I got them second (or probably more) hand.

I almost sold my 42mm white explorer last year in a moment of madness. But thankfully came to my senses in time.

None of mine have escaped. LVC, LV, 42mm white explorer and 16600 sea dweller. I reckon a YM II steel is next for the sillyness of the movement.

I ordered this SD4000 on the day of release at Basel. I picked it up two months later. I have worn it every day since even though I have 4 other SS sports Rolex's. I even sleep in it most nights. Don't think I'll ever sell this one just because it has been everywhere with me and feels part of me more than any other Rolex I have ever owned.

Not vintage by any means. Bought new in 2012, I don't like to think how many others have been bought and flipped by me since. I just know that if I sold this, within a year I'd be looking for another to replace it. I go a few months at a time without wearing it, then go for a few weeks or a month putting it on every chance I get, remembering what a little gem it is.

Now my wife of 17 years, she'd still castrate me if I blew nearly £4k on a used watch. She just doesn't understand 😱

Must be getting on for one of the longest age to watch ownership ratios... I still have my manual wind watch bought for me by my grandmother as a christening present. I turned 40 recently and it still works fine!

In 2001 I survived a rather big brain haemorrhage and open surgery on my grey matter in Adenbrooks.

It was in my fledgling years of watch interest, Mrs P knew I wanted a Breitling so popped out and came home with a B-2.

A lovely life is to short moment and the watch will stay with me forever.

With the exception of a Kemmner Tourbillon, purchased from Hsukirk of this forum, all my watches were bought new. With the exception of a Muhle Glashutte, which I gifted to my niece, still have all of them. Yes, I'm a hoarder!

    I still have just about all of them;
Citizen Promaster Ti AV0020 bought on holiday in Florida 2007.
Rolex 116610 retirement treat to myself.
Seiko Snm037 (very orange with a compass) bought on holiday in Oz 2010 as I was missing the sub, and was under the influence of too many Pure Naked Blondes.
Seiko SKX009 on Strapcode super oyster 2 because I saw one on this place.
    PRS 18Q as above.
Longines HC my current holiday watch.
An old G-shock in the drawer somewhere which still works and is occasionally used for proper dirty jobs.
The citizen and Seiko's don't get much wear at all and I should really move them on were it not for the fact that still like them.

My 1st new mechanical watch bought a couple of years ago now, still have it, but sadly now gets very little wear (a since acquired Smiths W10 usurped it :) )

I can imagine Paul, certainly puts things into perspective!
We had a couple of medical operations with our son, we new they were coming but it does make you stand back and think what really matters in life.
