Thats a great piece of show and tell... as you say it is interesting that a similar answer to a problem came up 100 years apart.
I also love how specific your reference book is! What fantastic piece of research that must have been!
When Eddie was showing the design drawing s for the PRS-40 I knew I had to get it. I loved the design and I was amazed how after nearly 100 years the same form factor had re-emerged! I was stunned at how much it reminded me of my 1917 Elgin Trench Watch! Now before you say it I know there are detail differences and I'm not saying the designer was inspired by this watch. I'm just saying isn't it amazing when two different people working on the same problem come to a very similar result even when there was nearly 100 years dividing the two!
Here are a few crumby iPhone pics! Oh and the ad pic is taken from Stan Czubernat's excellent book, Elgin Trench Watches of the Great War. An excellent read if you can get a copy!

Those are fantastic, I must add that book to my Christmas list :)
Really nice, must add!
Yeah it's a really good book with a lot of great research in it. He also did a great book on Waltham trench watches too.

I don't know. It's published by a small book house, Schaefer I think. Check it out online.
