Good result. I call them Herpes too. Internet shopping has created a 'race to the bottom' delivery infrastructure, so in a way we have got just what we paid for.
So
I bought a £15 watch on here recently and had almost forgotten about it
Not come in the post but I'd not messaged the seller
This morn I receive a random messenger request from a random person asking if I am who I am and did I live on the name of my street
She said she found a Hermes package in the gutter soaking wet and covered in mud about a mile from my address
She sent a pic to prove it
It was indeed the watch
She delivered it to me at lunchtime and I advised the seller
The worrying thing.... aparently herpes have it as signed for at my address!
The seller has been ace and informed him it's fine
So face cloth does have its benefits
The lady found me via that then messaged
Perhaps this country isn't full of scammers after all

Unfortunately My Herpes are overworked and underpaid so I always use one of the bigger companies like Fedex, DHL, UPS or royal mail tracked and signed for.
Shittylink were one of the worst before they went to the wall.
That was a result.
Cant stand herpes...or DHL. Another vote for DPD here as I've always found them good.
I assume you will be taking the matter up with Hermes? I wouldn't bother with the customer helpline but I would send a strongly worded email to as many senior management members as you can find emails. Also,if you are that way inclined,I would also tweet them and leave a comment on their facebook.
