Wow, tried on an expensive watch today!

Met with my business mentor this morning and he has a love of watches and as a very successful business man never fails to surprise me with his collection.

He said he'd sold a few and bought this one and that's the end of his collecting (although said with wry smile)

He let me try it on and it wasn't until I got back to the office and googled did I know what it was!!

    Beautiful!!!

Sooo, were you more impressed when you tried it on or when you saw the price?

Well I wasn't not that bothered about square/rectangle faces but having seen and tried it on and knowing it was a PP I knew it'd be expensive, but not that expensive.

having now tried it on I may look at getting a square/rectangle dress watch, but not that one!

Lots of brands do rectangle watches, but few are as nicely proportioned as a JLC Reverso or a Cartier's offerings
It's just a matter of time...

Would we all be complimenting this watch if it was a Lorus? I think not. It is an unusual PP piece but I can't say I like it. Just my opinion.

Fair enough. My only platinum watch is a sub. Just works, you know?

I like a rectangular face but that really doesn't work well IMO ... I'm always surprised at how many of PP's designs I find terrible to say the least. Some are divine, some abominable. I'd go for a classic Cartier Tank or Reverso 1931 when looking for a dressy rectangular watch.

Looks nice but I'd rather have an extension on the house.
