Very good. You've probably tempted me into trying the same on a Tissot with a similar bezel. Neatly done around the pip.
Now I know this has been done a few times but hey ho
My promaster was looking a little sad so I thought I'd give it a little attention
Trawled through the girls nail varnishes and found just what I was after
I bottle of black nail varnish, 1 cocktail stick,1 cotton bud, couple of drops of acetone and my trusty garryflex pad

I have a tag heuer formula one which I really like and would love to wear more but the bezel is worn and horrible. I will try what you suggest but I wonder if maybe the solution is knowing of a cheap Chinese diver with a clear bezel that actually fits

Nice result!
I have also had very good results using little pots of enamel paint from model shops. Available in both gloss and matt black, and other colours to suit the watch.
I apply the paint with an oiler and it works a treat.
That is a great result - the airfix model paints would also work well I would imagine.
I've refinished the enamelled numbers on a couple of Omegas. With the bezel off I took the insert out, stripped the remining old paint off with paint stripper, thoroughly degreased it, then carefully applied new paint using an old oiler. The hardest part was cleaning off the excess paint, I allowed the paint to partly dry them wiped off the excess using a cloth wetted with white spirit wrapped around a small rubber block. I then baked the enamel under a heat lamp, which hardened the paint and gave a nice smooth finish.
I used Humbrol matt blue enamel, which matched the original closely.

Well done, great result with a relatively small effort!
