First GS re-issue as expected, platinum, gold, stainless steel. Plus a modern makeover. And some weird ceramic shenanigans. Does the new logo make the dial feel ever so slightly unbalanced? Otherwise the change doesn't feel too dramatic really.
Like the new GS only dial that will be used going forward. Divers look nice but a tad too large.

I don't see the Grand Seiko developments as 'novelties'....unless all new watches are to be so described. The real point was surely that Grand Seiko is now floated-off as an independent brand, precisely as it's critics demanded . I suspect GS are coming out fighting, and with an international range of new boutiques...including London....will offer watch buyers some interesting choices.
Not a fan of the dive watches, but some of the classic range are just lovely. Effortless class.

IMO the 3180 first GS is one of the most beautiful watches ever. Glad to see it coming back to life.

Some of the new Sinn offerings are looking potentially decent, especially the new 356

Have you got a link for those? I can see the "our new watches" on their site but there's no press bumpf or pricing to go with it.

Stunning deep markers on this Alpina dial. Shame it's 44mm.

Pretty sure there's a thread onhese somewhere with details. I like it, the bezel changes make it look a lot less overwhelming compared to the standard version

Crossed my mind that Tudor could be the suitor. Either way this cross-sharing of movements makes a lot of sense for both brands. I have to take issue with all this 'transparency' though as the Tudor website has the movement down as 'manufacture'. Yes, thats about as 'manufacture' as the Seiko movements in TAGs. Lol.

New Seiko Cocktail Time models posted on WUS. Ow with a different crown, presage on the dial and new versions (blue dial, all blue hands, bracelet). Black strap looks the same.

Just learned this is mostly gold capped on the bracelet. Further cheapens the whole two-tone thing for me. Ah, sorry "Steel and Gold" or "S&G" as the Tudor marketers would like us to refer to it.

Nice one, I'll be picking up that blue one in due course. The Cocktail Time is one of those Seiko's I've never quite got round to getting but it was on my next up list for my next Japan trip. Mind you though, that 62MAS Ltd would be hard to turn down if I bump into one first.

There's nothing I've seen so far that's making me regret putting my name down for the Speedy Tuesday Omega. The WG Aquanaut came close, until I found out it was 42mm

those new cocktail times would be all sorts of win if they didn't have the 'presage automatic' text on

Ah, another blue dial Seiko watch that is likely to be popular. If you like it, buy it quickly before they discontinue it!

I was just thinking that too. I suspect it won't look too bad in the metal and it would need something there but, even so, just "Automatic" in the previous italic script they used would do.

I like that, although it's a bit niche. The HW/LW +- tide bezel is actually quite useful if you sail around the coast

I agree and the crown looks bigger as well (case also bigger by 0.5mm)... pity because that dial is nice.

Very nice. I never liked the power meter on the previous GS fiver. Much cleaner dial.

Dunno about the DLC, but the logo is an improvement. They should have removed the 262kHz marking too.

I've just had an email from the Financial Times about their Basel Watches & Jewellery Special Report. The print edition is normally heavily subsidised with advertising so I'm hoping the digital version is on the right side of the paywall.

    https://www.ft.com/reports/watches-jewellery

I'm not sure whether this comes out with today's or tomorrow's physical paper (though I'm hoping tomorrow as we get the FT Weekend delivered).

The linked Hodinkee has one picture of the original (belonging to the author). The bit that rankles is with me is that they clearly use a small movement with a spacer; on the original the centre of the subdial seems to be about equidistant between the centre of the dial and the edge at 6 whereas with the re-issue it looks to be about a third of the way down. You'd think that a company like Longines would have access to a decent back catalogue of movements they could have used here.

I have been going off the aged lume fade myself recently, but looking at videos of the Omega 57s, I have to say they are really nailing the look and it genuinely does looked realistically aged. It's done so well, that I feel it is making the Steinharts and Oris of the world efforts look a bit odd and amaturish... But time will also tell how popular it all ends up.

I have always liked the look on my LLD but that is paint and not lume, so they got a perfect hue.

I bet that blue one is beautiful, have to use your imagination though due to the typical Seiko pictures!

Indeed that looks good, would need to see in the flesh though as the crown looks a bit hefty for a dress watch

A two hander with no minute markers is long way down the road to dress watch, daily wearer considerations left far behind....which perhaps makes the choice of an auto movement a bit odd?

To keep it thin they've had to use the more expensive 2892 (3.6mm) If they had chosen to make it a manual they could have used the cheaper 2801 which is thinner still (3.35mm)

On the other hand, within the context of women's watches, there's nothing outside the ordinary here at all. Nonetheless, put indices on that and I would very happily wear it day in, day out :) Reminds me of a fantastic Wostok I used to have, which also had gold hands and indices. The warmth from them really does spread all over the dial. That didn't didn't have minute markers either, which is why I don't have it any more...

And is the minute hand a touch short? Bit like the 556.
