    Seiko SDGM003 - opinions

Just spotted this Brightz on the bay:

    http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seiko-SDGM00...%257Ciid%253A1

Is it worth the asking price or what would be reasonable? Looks like a lovely watch though I haven't found much info on here. Any owners around?

The SDGM series are lovely watches. I have both 001 and 003.
The price seems a touch high but there have been rumours of their obsolescence. I'd consider looking to buy new from the Japanese market. If you do find one it'll probably make slightly less of a dent in your pocket than the buy it now price of the one you've highlighted.
Build quality, for me, earns it the moniker of Baby Grand Seiko. Some will argue that the 6R15 movement is not that great but of the 40+ watches I own, at least 8 or so of them are 6R15 driven and their timekeeping and performance are beyond question.
I doubt you'd be disappointed with that model if you can secure one.

Thanks Reggie. I am quite tempted, particularly after seeing pics posted here: http://forums.watchuseek.com/#/topic...ge=3&_k=0faw3k

Seiya don't seem to stock this model any more and neither does creation. The dial looks spectacular.

I think these look great but they are very large for a classic 3 hander. Might be one to try on first unless your wrists are substantial...

I may be biased with an 8" wrist but at 40mm, they're not too bad really. (cue non-wrist shots)

They are amazing Reggie, I'm a sucker for good Seikos and I would stare all day at these. I could talk SARBs/SARXs/SARYs/SDGMs all day long...

For me, I'm about a 7" wrist but a 'square' wrist as opposed to a 'flat' wrist. I can barely get away with a 40mm watch, my Speedy (42mm) looks on the verge of passability.

I'd just hate to see someone buy a watch and have it in the drawer due to sizing.

I'm sure it could move along again quite swiftly if that were the case.

Nice! What is the movement in them? 6R15?

I will give Higuchi a try.

Some very nice pics posted here. I have a sub 7 inch wrist but it's quite flat so I may be able to get away with it but need to have a good think..

If you can meet up on Sunday near Chorley you can check mine out in the flesh and see how it sits on your wrist ?
I have to pop to Adlington to see a customer just after lunch time.
    Lemme know

Very kind Sir! Sadly I am unable to join due to a wife imposed weekend watch travel ban (she wears the trousers).

Higuchi have confirmed the model is indeed discontinued.
