Time to lose one, genuine help required for Speedy purchase.

I seem to be on a Retro Omega trip these days what with these two arriving within a couple of weeks of each other.

The next logical step is to find a retro Moon watch to complete the trio, but this cannot happen without letting one of the following go, so which would you let go in order to get a Moon Watch or should I just stick with what I have?

    1.Breitling Blackbird Chronomat.

    2. IWC 3777\01 Black dial.

Dump the Breitling. You are obviously a man of taste.

I'd drop the Breitling as well. Love the Railmaster!

If I were Howdy, I'd let the Breitling go.

You could lose both and get a Speedy and one of these:

I've never been a Breitling fan but this looks truly awesome. It would also give your collection a bit more variety.

I don't know if they're the same value, I dont know if that has any kind of impact on your decision, but I'd be losing the breitling as well.

The Breitling would be worth slightly less, but not by much, anyway on here at least it's looking like I asked a daft question.

I would keep both at present and get a 3573.50 when one pops up on sales corner.

The Breitling looks good on you !

As an IWC fan and someone who just does not get Breitling, I would dump the Blackbird in a heartbeat.

Yep, ditch the Breitling. I'd hang on to the IWC as it's something a bit different and would be missed!

Just on the MOTM, I had the same similar journey and ended up with the 41mm RM, the 2254.50 and a brand new 2016 MOTM. I didn't mind that the MOTM wasn't a retro model, so to speak. I just picked the ones I wanted/like the most, and all that I used to tie the collection together was the same font types, and use of twisted lugs. Mixing and matching would just seem a bit odd to my collection.

I'd keep IWC, not keen on brassy Breitlings.

  22. #22
That would be a tough choice for me. Because the blackbird with the big date is actually a really nice watch. And of course, the IWC is also a classic. So if I had to make a choice, I'd get rid of that Seamaster!

  23. #23
I thought the Blackbird had been dumped a long time ago.

Looks like the consensus of opinion is to drop the Breitling.

The Breitling looks better on your wrist than the IWC, just send the IWC to me :D

If it was me, I'd lose the Breitling...

  27. #27
I'd be happy keeping the IWC but do prefer those without the rolling date wheel
    nice dilemma to have!

It's not going to be as one-sided as you think...

I've never liked triple date displays and I am something of a Breitling fan, so even though that's not my favourite Breitling model, it's the one I'd keep.

I would go against the grain and say drop the IWC. I think the Blackbird looks quite unique and is a nice watch. The IWC with the 3 date window just doesnt do it for me.

I've had a really good think about things and a U-turn is now on the cards. On reflection I can see the beauty in the two Omegas, but when it boils down to it I just prefer a slightly larger watch and something very nice has appeared on SC. So as of this morning the Breitling and IWC are going nowhere.

Sell both and buy two Omegas! Or just sell both - neither appeal to me in the least, and judging by your Omegas you have good taste.

I'm surprised we've got to 34 posts without someone saying "sell all four and buy a Rolex; the only watch you'll ever need"

I'd also lose the breitling. Pilot watch is more special IMO and would leave a bigger gap in your arsenal. Good luck with the sale.
