    Fat spring bars

I received a "new to me" Seiko Orange Monster at the weekend and as is normal here swapped the strap. Unfortunately the new strap pins are not fat as the standard spring bar is.

Having read extensively and searched, extensively I believe the pivot holes are 1.mm on Seiko divers and the original spring bars are 2.5mm. The nearest I can find are listed as Rolex Sub spring bars with a pivot pin of 1.2mm which may not fit and I cannot find anywhere a 2mm diameter spring bar with a 1.mm pivot pin.

Anyone have a link to something that would be suitable as in my research it was suggested that smaller pivots could cause the pivot holes to wear.

Why not just get the standard Seiko fat bars?

Too fat to go into the strap would really need to force them and I am worried will stress and split the rubber in time.

Search on eBay for an Australian seller: twente
I got some from there and they did the trick

An Orange Monster on leather... fairly unusual choice I would have thought.

I had my 1st generation OM on both the original (excellent!) bracelet and a black rubber strap with orange stitching - I'm not sure I'd ever have considered putting it on a leather strap tbh.

Thanks Simon, it's not leather just an after market rubber.

Aah right, I somehow read that wrong. As you were...

Personally I'd buy Seiko fat bars and shove 'em through - I doubt if it would damage the rubber unless it's very brittle.

That shouldn't be your biggest concern. The biggest issue you will have is that the tight rubber will 'grip' on the spring bar and undo it from the watch. Been there, done that.

Ditto. I bought a BC rubber strap for my Seiko Turtle and this happened. Got the spring bars I mentioned above and hasn't happened again.

Edit: 22 mm or 20 mm? The OP may prefer these: 5 x 20mm D/FLANGED BARS TO REPLACE "SEIKO FAT SPRING BARS C200FS" IN 316L S/S.

You're welcome. Delivery from Australia was pretty good too, although I did notice the stamp on the envelope celebrated their win in the Ashes! A coincidence I'm sure

I'm sure there's a BC strap just like that on Amazon that takes the standard fat Seiko bars?

Not worth importing, but surely they are available over there too.
