Just seen this Colin, all the best for your recovery mate, you sound like you are are bearing up brilliantly.

Just on a side note, a pal of mine many years ago lost an arm in a motor bike accident and used to drive an auto with one of those knobs fitted on the steering wheel for one handed operation.

I'm sure they have much better stuff available nowadays.

Very sorry to hear about your injury and hope your recovery goes well.

I can't really add anymore to the advice above regarding your car, I suppose it depends on how quick a sale you want. A trade sale takes the hassle out but they obviously need to make their profit.

(Living locally i would offer asssistance but recovering from a broken hip and housebound)

Colin - Really sorry to here about your situation, it sounds awful. I sold my last car (a slightly older BMW) to Chris Denton in Sheffield who offered a very fair price and was excellent to deal with. Worth asking him to call by if you want a hassle free sale:

And once again thanks for all your concern, solicitor has been to see me and has put the wheels in motion.
My employer has been outstanding with my family and I.
Little infection in my arm which is going to be sorted Friday.
