Pawn Stars for me. Hardcore Pawn has nothing like the interesting items shown on Pawn Stars (or if they do, they aren't filmed) and they seem to low-ball desperate people. There are some complete basket cases that go into the Detroit store. The program of that type I prefer is American Restoration. I've actually taken some tips from that show as I'm in the middle of restoring old portholes and ship's lamps recovered over the years. And yes, they have been registered with the Receiver of Wreck.

Pawn Stars, not just educationally for the items people bring in but the interactions of the guys who run the shop, brilliant!

Hardcore Pawn is like Jeremy Kyle. Some of the items on Pawn Stars are very interesting, though staged of course.

I have watched Pawn Stars for a while and when I went to Vegas in 2015 I decided to visit the store. I had read a few reviews online that said when the store was not being filmed, they did not stock many items and it was a little bit of a let down!

I still went to the store with the intention of spending $150 to buy a little memento but struggled to find anything and found the reviews to be right.

I'll dig some photos out and post them if anyone is interested.

Which one's the one where the guy always knows a guy who's an expert on that particular item? That one!

Pawn Stars - fascinating and very enjoyable.

And as for that Rebecca Romney, the rare book expert (and she genuinely is), mmmmm.... brainy and gorgeous.

So clever my foot fell off.

I actually like both even though they are both completely staged/fake, dont really watch either anymore as they have become so obviously fake its killed it a bit for me. I also went to the Pawn Stars store a about 6 years ago and thought it was actually quite cool, although the decision to walk there from New York New York turned out to be a bad one. Rather a long way in that heat! Apparently the 'stars' of the show only ever go in for the odd day of filming which I was a bit sad about.............

Completely agree about Rebecca Romney, she is so hot/sexy clever!! And anyone who says the womany from the other one 'would get it' need their head looking at!!

Anyone watched Counts Customs? That is a car modding show from the guy that used to do all the Pawn Stars car stuff and is still in the show quite a bit. Thats actually quite good especially if you like cars.

Pawn stars for me. The hardcore one does nothing for me, don't like any of the characters and it feels like they are all desperate people and they are taking advantage of that. (Bit too deep probably!)

I have also been enjoying "shipping wars" and "tanked" of late, entertaining brain out tv.

Hardcore Pawn, although I like both.

Agree that Ashley could do with a slap.

Hardcore all the way! Obviously both staged rubbish but Les is just top and Seth and Ashley make it even better. They're like the Pound-Stretcher Trumps!

I must admit I lost interest in both a long while ago but at least Pawn Stars had some interesting stuff on it.

Hardcore Pawn is just so depressing.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

I went to the the pawn stars shop a few years back. A queue to get in, it's quite a tourist attraction . No one on the show was there.

I thought these programmes were about Chess players when I first saw them advertised!

I'm not sure what that says about me...

I thought I had taken some internal pictures of the store but I can only find photos of the outside, so you may have to visit after all!

I would say 30% of the store was reserved for selling Pawn Stars merchandise but it is still worth visiting if you are a fan but don't expect too much.

I had visited The Stratosphere beforehand and stopped at the Pawn Star store on my way to Fremont Street!

The one where the main guy has a Trumpesque comb-over hidden by a ridiculous 'do-rag' on his head? Why doesn't he just go bald :-)

Pawn Stars staged or not, I really don't care as what entertains me is the variety of stuff 'brought in' and the humourous interaction of the personalities.

of the 2 - pawn stars hands down. But actually prefer the British 'Posh Pawn' show to either.

Yes it's not bad but I'm not keen on the ' background/signature tune' they use on the show. Is it supposed to be Jewish or Gypsy themed?

    Bloody bast!

The twist for me was that people actually watched that film and didn't realise/assume he was dead from the start! He gets shot in the stomach and then spends the whole film not talking to anyone but the freaky kid whose much publicised tag line is "I see dead people". I honestly got to the credits and was still wondering what the amazing twist was - I had to google...

    Pawn Stars by far.

There was actually another British one based in North Wales at one point which was a bit lame. I went to go to the shop for a look around one time but it had disappeared.

Pawn Stars paid someone from the NAWCC to teach the staff how to spot fake watches.
He has posted pics of himself with the Old Man and Chumlee over there.

I forgot about that UK version - absolutely shocking.

They tried the old formula with the two blokes and a gormless Chumlee type son but the characters were so unlikable..........
    Cheers,
