That’s absolutely superb - thanks for sharing! Fascinating and very well put together.
The Mauritshuis in Den Haag have just launched a brilliantly well designed and fun website all about The Goldfinch, the tiny, world famous painting by Carel Fabritius.
If you like a) art b) Dutch art from the Golden Age c) a really clever web site, d) birds including goldfinches - I like all of those - you could do worse than spend a relaxing 10 mins at http://puttertje.mauritshuis.nl/en/
Veel plezier!

Thanks. I loved the novel by Donna Tartt as well.
The Mauritshuis is a small but great museum in The Hague, adjacent to the Binnenhof: our House of Commons & House of Lords.
The most famous painting is Vermeer's Girl with the pearl earring (although recent studies show that it wasn't pearl, it was most likely glass with a varnish. A common piece of jewelry back then).
Close to the Mauritshuis is another wonderful museum: the house of Esher. The graphic designer.
Finally, on the northside of the town in the village Wassenaar, you will find -apart from or king's estate- the Louwman Auto Museum. I can safely say that is one of the best in the world.
Forget Amsterdam, go the The Hague for a weekend! Far nicer to visit.

Thanks for the link, I really enjoyed it.
I'll drink to that; we have had several brilliant family holidays based in Scheveningen. There are a large number of local attractions for all ages, Escher in Het Paleis is a favourite and we enjoy browsing the flea market just outside.
That's a fabulous website. I've been looking at it with my art loving daughter, she's been mesmerised.
That is lovely. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful - many thanks for posting I enjoyed that

I have loads of Goldfinches in the garden. Nyger seed, they can't get enough of the stuff.
