    Collection where to go next

    Evening all,

    i currently have 5 watches:
    IWC 3714 portuguese (keeper)
    Rolex submariner hulk (keeper)
Iwc 387804 spitfire (ardoise dial spitfire with inhouse movt)
Panerai 510 (8 day manual wind)
    Breitling blackbird big date

the top two are for various reasons keepers, the other 3 are worth say £10-11k.

3 or 4 watches is really enough for me and im a bit bored, what would you add and subtract from the above??

Those watches all wear pretty big so does it have to be a big size.
Was thinking a vintage or at least non-ceramic rolex(possibly sea dweller) but may not wear big enough for you.
Tracking down a nice matt dial SD will keep you busy.Ive been looking for a year and during my procrastination prices have not far off doubled.
    I now can't afford one.

A speedmaster of some variety :) although personally, I'd love to add a black dial seamaster 120m f300 to my collection.

Photos of the existing watches might help for those of us (ie. me!) that aren't familiar with all of them. Obvs I know what the Hulk is...

    Lose Blackbird.

Add AP Royal Oak. If normal is too small then chrono.

    I would actually say 'stick'.
But if you really want to I would suggest changing the PAM for a PAM233 or similar with a more domed crystal and fast change straps. To cover the change I would loose the Breitling as well as the PAM.

With your two keepers, you have sea and air covered so you need a land watch. Could the budget stretch to a cream rail Explorer 2? Would have the light coloured dial covered too.

Sell the 3 and get an AP ROO. Your taste in watches over the years has been similar to mine and I love my Royal Oak. I think you would too.

You have some lovely simple and stylish watches here. The Blackbird just doesn't seem to fit with the others.

The Aquanaut is a good suggestion.

I’m getting bored of my lot and seriously considering one myself. Or just something else away from Rolex.

I personally would lose the Blackbird, it does nothing for me. I'd think of adding a gold piece for some variety, a simple classic 3 hander. Not sure if there's much to choose from in your size range, but this Omega DeVille Tresor just scrapes in at 40mm. It's one I keep having a look at, yellow or rose gold, and with a beautiful textured and domed dial. This is the YG model:

The Panerai is gorgeous and absolutely would be a keeper for me.

You might want to reconsider the watch worth of £10-11k, i think you could be well below that in the market place.

Certainly the first two are tick list classics and would be looking for maybe one or two more but probably no more.

Why not go for something different like a daydate , white gold 40 mm is where I'd be putting my money

I'd sell the bottom three and splurge the cash on a Grand Seiko GMT, SD4000 and a few vintage Seikos (6309-7040, Bullhead and one or two more).

I’d think about either a vintage Speedie or maybe one of the LE’s that are available or maybe just a nice 1990’s one a shade under 2k.
Buy at the right price and they can be as solid as a Sub. Have the joy and soul of a manual wind and a classic that never seems to date. Like others have said I’d loose the Breitling .

Ever thought about selling the lot and buying a white gold Pepsi GMT. PROBABLY the best watch I have handled recently

However having said that your two keepers may have massive sentimental value. Just a thought.

The portuguese has to stay but the hulk is negotiable

    if I could get a 5711 I’d consider it

Boodles were happy to show me one they had and then not sell it to me FML :)

I understand your thought process but IMHO the 5711 realistically is not for everyday use
