Not the easiest "photographic " area but these photographs demonstrate that it can be done.

^^^ Cheers matey. The fact that I love it there makes it easier :)

    Guess where this is...

    And this..

First one I'm guessing is Chesil Beach, so shot from Portland maybe? Second looks like maybe a shot back towards Portland?

  5. #55
Not bad, yes indeed Chesil Bank, along the causeway and back into Weymouth. 2nd is a little track that comes up from Martinstown, past Hardy's Monument, and goes over the hill and down into Abbotsbury. And that bright shiny thing used to called 'sunshine' but havent seen any here for time immemorial

^^^ Ah, the second I couldn't figure out quite how far inland you were - I was thinking nearer Chickerell or Fleet maybe

There used to be a really great pub in Portesham called the half moon. Had a board floor, and a grey parrot with some ripe language. Proper old fashioned Dorset pub. Just houses now.

    Same location in November 2016:

I'm very lucky that my best mate has one of the best wake up views in Beer, next to Branscombe:

Great shots, Jeremy, and what a coincidence! We stayed in the Mason's Arms in Branscombe, by the way.

    I know it well Tony.

It's a good walk there from Beer Head.

As a recommendation may I suggest a visit to Burton Bradstock and The Hive Beach Cafe. It's easily Googleable.

Thank you for your comments which coming from you are high praise indeed.

Can you indulge me one more? This was taken on a lovely evening stroll at Burton Bradstock with my wife and her friend in 2004. The photograph is completely unphotoshopped and I am rather proud of it.

I was thinking about doing a coastal path weekend getaway in Wales, but seeing these pictures I might've found a better (and closer) place.

Been in the water today? I went in yesterday at Ringstead, little bit sharp but great once you are in.

You're making me jealous! Hoping to get in the sea, maybe near Weymouth in July. Had a swim up here in N. wales this week, it was so so nice!
Any steam fairs or country shows in Dorset this July?

I didn't go in the water but my daughter was swimming for almost an hour.

There is a Dorset steam fair, not sure of the dates though.

The Salt pig in Wareham is a lovely place for some lunch. And a beer at the Square and Compass is almost a necessity when visiting the area

We went out on a boat to the estuary in Wareham. Last flying boat base in the uk outin the reeds.
