No penguins.
OK I give in! I have heard of the mysterious Bear Pit but do not see it on the forum list! I can even access the mythical SC but I don't have BP.
Is it invitation only like the Masons, or even more exclusive.
Be afraid, be very afraid........
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
Foul mouthed grumpy bears too.
You can *see* SC but you can't post there, can you? Not for another two months and 150 posts.
Don't forget, it's all at the boss's discretion.
He scrutinises your post record to decide whether you're worthy, SC and BP access depends on quality of posts, it's not simply a numbers game.
Paul
Absolutely Paul. Seems relatively fair. I am still obviously finding my feet, enjoying reading lots and learning new things. Feeling my way as it were.
I am interested in adding to my collection (or rather starting one) as well as learning about the hobby, biggest issue is too many nice things far too few resources. I feel like a kid in a candy store.
They're all cute and cuddly pandas in the BP! ;-)
And of course there is the initiation video you have to submit.
Cheers..

The quickest way to access the BP is to start a post telling us all about yourself. Like a CV really. Your likes, dislikes, future hopes and dreams, any hobbies you're into (the man main is big into origami and Ancient Greek needle craft from the Bymoen era circa BC 150 to 120, so if you're into either of them make sure you add them). If you make it really informative and interesting he's been known to give instant access, occasionally even the key to the executive toilettes (can't confirm if that bits true as I only have access to the public one).
Good luck, we're all rooting for you :-)
You broke the first rule of the BP;)
Oh WOW how cool is that! So similar. Everyone gets Origami but it is so difficult to find someone to have an intelligent conversation with around the the evolution and influence of Chinese and Indian needlecraft on that of the Greeks through trade and the influence of this on the mosaics through the Byzantine era.
The BP is quite an amusing read but I'd not be in a rush to post there.
Yes the bear pit does sound an interesting place however I'm probably too much of a neophyte to be granted access. I shall continue to serve my apprenticeship until I deem myself worthy to apply.
Always reminds me of going into a Weatherspoons pub for the first time. A lot of drunks, have nots and hand shandy types...................................
Worth going in for the cheap though.................................
In true Bear Pit spirit I guess we will see you next Tuesday.
I think you're all mistaken. There is no Bear Pit on TZ-UK.
Fas est ab hoste doceri
They're just winding you up mate. It's really friendly in there, like a big knitting circle. The most exciting thing that ever happens is when someone drops a stitch.
Sounds like the dark side..... Or a nice place for a childish fallout between so called adults.
