    Surprising Friday incoming...

I put my name down for this a while back and the call on Thursday afternoon took me a little by surprise. Still, I wasn't going to let that get in the way so in I went today to pick it up.

As always my AD rocked it and provided the touch paper for the evening - a bottle of decent champs and, even more awesomely, a NOS Patek branded Graf Von Faber Castell pen which is gorgeous.

Anyway, here's a few garbage photos...

    Mmmmmmmm...

Beautiful. I assume you're like the Cheshire Cat at the minute! Enjoy!

    Congratulations!

Is the blue of the dial a deeper colour than the 5711, or is that just the different lighting?
It's just a matter of time...

An absolute cracker there, Cliff. Not convinced I'd keep the three hand Nautilus now though - the complications are so beautifully executed.

They're both beauties but, to me the three hander just shades it.

That is beautiful, congratulations. One of these will always be out of my league but is truly a beautiful piece.

Thank you! Nah, same colour, must just be the lighting/filter.

I was about 8 months. I'm exceptionally lucky when it comes to Patek wait lists.

I know that having both of them is excessive but the 5711 is such a classic and such a pure design. Tough to let go...

And for me. The new one is stunning but the three hander is the ultimate.

The 5711 is certainly the more classically good looking watch. The 5712 is one of those things that has an appealing ugliness!

That looks like a pretty good start to the weekend! Is the bracelet the same as on the three hander?

I have always thought the 5712 looked too busy for my taste, but your last photo makes me think otherwise - and it makes the 5711 look pretty dull in comparison. You may have just cost me £10k...

Lovely pair though - you lucky chap!

It is lovely and love the asymmetric layout.
Have the same in grey dial and two tone on a strap and love it.

    Lovely.

One day, I'll selll several out of my collection and get one of those myself.

I demand mates rates - at least 20% off as second hand. I'll sweeten the deal and do a direct swap for my daytona- so worth it

Congrats on this Cliff- you didn't send me a customary pic of your new incoming

Thanks! They certainly are! If you're at the Edinburgh GTG I'll bring them along to play with.

Another couple for the lovers and haters. Spent all my money on Patek and beer, can't afford carpets.

Congratulations, they make a very handsome couple.

Any chance of a photo of the pen at some stage? I hadn't heard of those before.

Your AD has good taste in champagne!

Sure, here you go. It's a nightmare to photo, so I've gone black and white to help pick out the details.

    Super beautiful!!! Amazing acquisition! congrats!

Just looking at the specs i wonder why the 5712 has a reduced WR rating compared to all the other Nautilus watches?
