Worn mine every day since buying it in the Autumn of 2016 and absolutely love it. Wasn't too keen on either of the supplied straps so put it one of Eddie's black and grey NATO 's, which I think suits it well. All in all, a great watch for the money imho.

The brown strap looks great, happen to know where it's from?

I've had Pav (Pav79) of this parish make me a few straps over the years and, for me, they're the best leathers you can buy. I've bought hand-made straps to order from other well-known strap makers, sometimes at up to three times the cost of Pav's, and they simply don't compare.

I wanted a black leather for my Bulova that was either cordovan or something very similar. I gave Pav my measurements and requirements and he gave me a couple of options. I settled on the black Cromexcel leather with black stitch.

It has arrived and it has exceeded my already high expectations! The quality of the leather is amazing and so pliable straight out the packet. The fit is perfect and the smell....pure leather-heaven.

My pics won't do it justice I'm afraid:

I thought to give the thread a little nudge, this is becoming my daily wear at the moment.

On paper it would appear to be too big for me and some of the photos I've seen here suggest it is a bit of a beast too. Anyone with approx. 7" wrist care to comment or ad a decent wrist shot?

This is one of the Blu Shark Alpha straps. $32 plus shipping from the USA is the only downside, along with the roulette of customs duty. Great straps though, I prefer these to my Phenomenato, just because they are a bit thicker. Both makes of strap are equally as comfortable to wear.

Looks very like Eddie's Timefactors luxury nato and his are considerably cheaper and no customs worries

I did notice that, after I had bought these!

I will get a couple of Eddies to go with the Samurai.

Bumping this a bit, wearing mine for the first full day today. It's a bit too thick to sit politely under shirt cuffs, but it'#s not really meant to be a dress watch, so that doesn't bother me too much :)

Ooof - didn't realise the photo was quite that big. Will edit it down a bit...

Get that one bought on SC, pstruck. You won't regret it. I am tempted by it myself, and I already have one! Strap option would be a better bet for the more refined wrist shape imho.

Anyone seen any good deals or got any discount codes for the bracelet model recently? It's currently on Amazon with next day delivery through Prime at £329 on the strap and £392 on the bracelet. Anything better out there?

I'm still not sure about the size for my puny wrist, but curiosity may be getting the better of me......

V tempting and the strap may well be the better choice for me, however, I am a real bracelet fan.

I see you are now selling. What is your wrist size so that I can gauge from your photo? I am particularly nervous of buying one of these as I have had a couple of 44mm watches which I found too big, yet others just about ok. I know it is not as simple as case diameter alone and individual tastes vary. Interesting that the OP finds it fine on his 6.75" wrist.

Before I take the plunge, could someone confirm whether the bracelet version is worth the extra? Can't decide between the two versions.

It's a big beast for a small wrist, which is a concern.

    Thanks

I'm a bracelet man at heart but I tried both on and the combination of the extra weight and the extra cost made my mind up for me. Plus, from an historical point of view, it wouldn't have been issued with a bracelet.

I'm a bracelet man, I did buy some curved spring bars but have been unable to remove the bracelet
I like it but I do like my watches big (tuna, etc)

Just took this of mine on an aftermarket strap on my 7" wrist. Not too big imho. The bracelet version does seem to wear a bit larger.

I was put off the bracelet because the lug holes are in a different place, the bracelet is hard to remove and most importantly it doesn't match the case. On the supplied mission velcro strap it looks great.

That's a great price, wouldn't mind one of these when funds permit.
    Looks great on a NATO.

I sold my Bulova Moon (on a carbon strap) but I'm seriously tempted to get one on a metal bracelet ie model 96B258?

I can get one for £357 (£389 without discount) from HSJohnson, but i seem to remember that their prices go up and down, so I don't know what was their lowest price for the bracelet version??

  36. #86
a new version of the moonwatch unveiled at Basel - OG logo and no date

  37. #87
I weakened (again) but this time bought the bracelet version from HSJohnson (~£356).
I'm sure i read somewhere that the lug holes are drill ed differently in the bracelet version (compared to the carbon/nero strap version). Apparently, this makes it a lot easier to fit non-stop straps to the bracelet version???

Weird that Bulova doesn't seem to be making any attempt to publicise it.

Same size, yes, but it will also be available in "naked" steel.

That said, I will be getting the black one.
