Full races are on YouTube, for example:

Cool! That was the second ever motor race I visited.

The first had been that year's Le Mans 24 Hours.

I didn't enjoy F1 anything like as much as the sportscars though and have never been to another GP!

I still go to the odd sportscar race and did Le Mans for about 30 years, although it's got extremely 'corporate' in the Audi era, which (along with some other issues) eventually put me off going.

I do think I'll go back to Le Mans one day, though.

I will sit down and watch these sometimes - I remember that season very well!

PS weren't the cars lovely then compared to the monstrosities of today? So clean in their design, not equipped with 4,000 aero tweaks, the loss of any one that will render the car totally undrivable. The bane of most modern motorsport, imo.

My first memories of F1 are of watching it on the TV with my father in about 1980/1980. Rene Arnooooooo and waiting for the coverage to catch up with whatever Walker and Hunt were talking about. Oh the happy carefree days of F1 uninterrupted on the BBC.
