Well done PB. Not good he flogged it but I suppose sometimes needs must.
Just thought I'd share this one with you all.
A friend of mine (also a photographer) was working at the launch of James Bond's latest Omega, back in the days of Pierce Brosnan. After Pierce had done his thing, shown off his latest toy and posed up for all the photos, my mate spontaneously said that he should give him the watch as it was his birthday and he was having to work. Pierce stopped what he was doing and asked him to prove it. He whipped his ID out, showed him the date and a few minutes later he had himself a pretty exceptional birthday gift!
I seem to remember he ended up flogging it, sadly. My hand has always shot up for those jobs ever since. Not sure that Craig fella would be up for it though...
Well done PB. Not good he flogged it but I suppose sometimes needs must.

I have heard of a story of Bremont being asked to provide a COSC certificate for the new owner of one of their watches, which they had just bought used.
Bremont quickly realised that the watch in question was a sample, sent out for third party photography, and had never been returned to them by the photography studio.
I am not certain, but I think they allowed the new owner to keep it, but had a few choice words to say to the studio.

What studio would Bremont lend out to. I'm only aware of the Kingsman.
Bit different PB giving up his own watch - unless he just arranged for one to be provided?
It's just a matter of time...
Most watches come with a security chaperone when they are sent out for a shoot unless they are cheap, I'm surprised they 'forgot' about the whereabouts of a watch. It's usually the job of the in-house PR to sort that out.
I think I had £1million (5 pieces) of bling on one watch shoot for GQ
Having covered plenty of these types of things, I'm sure B was handed the watch fifteen seconds before walking in front of the press so it will have been no skin off his nose, as they say. Also, would Omega say no when he asks for a replacement? :)
Still, fair play to PB. He made some terrible Bond films but glad to hear he is a nice guy.
Worked with both PB and DC a number of times. Both are exceptionally nice people. They both had to spend a considerable number of years working through their careers with no guarantees beyond being jobbing actors in minor roles.
Pierce came from an exceptionally poor background and has dealt with a lot of difficult events in his life. The two of them are probably the nicest actors I've met on film sets.
Actually thinking about it I've met all the bona fide Bond actors. Timothy Dalton and Roger Moore both seemed very nice (Moore is a laugh a minute).
Connery ... not overly friendly but polite enough.

I could tell you all a story about an Omega used in a Bond film but I'm afraid I'd have to kill you all. Sorry.
I have some pics of it with one of my watches and will see if I can dig them out.
"A man of little significance"
Ive seen pics of the rubber Omega Co-Axial Seamaster prop that was used in Casino Royale as a knuckle duster (as per Ian flemings novel)
Believe most of the footage was cut from the film but there is a blink and you will miss it part where you see DC using it as a knuckle duster in the sinking venice building scene near the end!!!
No quite in the same vein, but I randomly bumped into DC at Pinewood Studios one day in early 2015 as he was coming off a Spectre set and going for lunch. We had a pleasant chat for 2 mins as we walked along the corridor and I asked to see his watch (the Seamaster 300). "You must have drawers full of those", I said. "Surely you can spare one?" He just smiled and said "they'd kill me". The next day he pulled into Pinewood in a handsome black 4-door Aston Rapide just as I was leaving with a colleague of mine and he gave me a point and a wave. Thoroughly nice bloke!

going even further away from topic (ish) but while at the Brum Motorcyle show few years back post Casino Royale I ended up on a stand next to a guy with a petite dark haired girl and he had a 007 stunt crew shirt on
- I started chatting by way of is that genuine or very cool eBay job? He laughed and said yes it was real... this was Gary Powell (who Mr.D probably knows) chief stunt coordinator - asked him about the barrell roll and said it was done at GM's test track at Milbrook, Beds wasn't it? He was really surprised I knew(had been on a jolly day there once and recognised the Alpine track)
Apparently, some logistical problems meant they had to film there instead of East Europe so they did track in reverse to try and conceal it. I said was a great job only a few people who had done GM would have known, and he thanked me great guy..........
the petite girl he introduced me too was Eva Greene's stunt double and she was the one laying in the road... shook her hand too for sure.... (didn't catch her name though).
oh, to cap this too, went to Aston Martin factory a while ago too, Simon who took us round it turned out (he is into VW campers) was in the paint shop before, chatted about his Planet Ocean he was wearing....
he painted the Casino Royale cars and came up with that shade that can be ordered as Casino Silver I believe.......
Great post and super story.
We all love Bond so more would be very welcome im sure, dont know the girls name though guess she still works with them - would it be Nicky Berwick?

It's an image that sorta sticks around
I have a couple of unworn crew jackets from TWINE.
I think I have some baseball caps but might have given them away.
I have an aspinal leather gift set with wallet from QOS given to me by Barbara Brocoli.
Ah my friend has the Aspinal gift set.
I must admit to being a Bond clothes nut (well the clothes I like), especially the jackets worn on screen from the Daniel Craig era. Expensive hobby but fun identifying them over on the Bond forums! I think I now have all the casual jackets from the Daniel Craig films as love them all!

My Uncle Tommy used to play golf with Connery when he lived in Marbella. Tommy was a Glasgow scheme boy who'd made a fortune out of a roofing business so he was rough as you'd expect and I don't think I ever saw him sober. He used to rant about how much he hated Connery. The main subjects of his rants seemed to be that he kept beating him at golf and all the women fancied him. Never any mention of his actual character.
