Warm up for MotoGP could not have been hotter. Viņales and Lorenzo were fastest, separated by 0.000 seconds....
The website is now live: www.britishtalentcup.com...just in case someone out there knows a lad or lass with a date of birth between January 1st, 2001 and December 31st, 2005 who might be interested.
Edit
One to watch on Red Bull TV, for this season and 2018? Just finished, the first race of the season and Rory Skinner is on the top step of the podium. Race 2 is set for 14h20 BST tomorrow at Jerez (see link).

Enjoyed that...well done one and all...it seems we may have an interesting season...
Classy ride by Dani and Zarco continues to impress.
Watching to coverage from Jerez just makes we want to go back, hopefully this November. It's a fantastic track to ride.

Indeed we do. He must have talent to have got through selection. And probably some form of backing (Racing Steps Foundation?) as I saw that another UK youngster, Charlie Nesbitt, also got through selection but isn't on the track with RBRs. All three are also entered in the 2017 FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship.
Dan and Rory are of an age, but this is Dan's first and Rory's second year in both competitions. Let's hope they can both do well.
Here's Dan:

See that Tarran Mackenzie has replaced Danny Kent in Moto 2
Saw him being interviewed by Suzie Perry at Jerez and he blamed the team, stated one incident where they had pumped up his tyres with 10 extra PSI. I suppose there are always 2 sides to a story.
I suppose if you can't throw your toys out of the pram and put a real hole in things at 23 when can you do it?
Though I remember when Rossi broke his leg Yamaha asked Crutchlow to come in and do a few races, Crutchlow no and I thought that would be the end of his MotoGP career before it had started.
We will have to see what results he has in Moto 3!!!
It's amazing what winning races can do to peoples memories (that's if he wins any)
There is always a place in BSB if he fails
The difference is that Vinales, actually had the ability to back up his toys out of the pram moment....
Thoughts with Nicky Hayden......doesn't sound good

Yet another cyclist being hurt or worse, I don't ride as much these days because I cycle a lot.
I think it will be safer to ride my motorbikes more again.
Watch him race live on Saturday at Le Mans: FIM CEV Repsol 15h30 BST (16h30 CEST). More info from www.fimcevrepsol.com/en.
It looks as though the GBR lineup on the grid is:
pos # name 10 69 Rory Skinner 18 11 Dan Jones 30 86 Charlie Nesbitt 32 65 Josh Owens
Rory and Charlie managed 9th and 11th last time out in this series. Dan came in 17th and Josh was a DNF.

Sorry i haven't been back posting here... loads going on & such a geek i have watched all practice & quali then Jerez races & avoided ... interesting weekend & I have a couple of thoughts on DK now after today...will post later ....for now though absolutely saddened by Nicky Hayden...one of few riders in GP paddock who stopped for us & signed my Arai visor. Nice guy & a present came my way from my mother a few years back & is the Hayden Tissot edition watch which i love wearing. Hope he pulls through..

Just catching up from yesterday I hope Jorge can get it together.
By eck, Jack Miller is a lucky boy......frightening crash in FP4
The Moto3 Junior World Championship race is now live on YouTube (15h30 BST - 16h30 CEST) with live timing on www.motogp.com.
More info from www.fimcevrepsol.com/en.
Fortunately it's dry and looks as though it will stay that way for the MotoGP races tomorrow after an interesting QP in all classes today.
Update: Dan Jones was doing well with 10 laps to go coming up through the field, passing Rory Skinner and dragging him with him up to the second group on the track. Around lap 8 he retired...they didn't show a crash or a mechanical retirement, so I don't know what happened. Rory ended up in 10th and Charlie 'Spud' Nesbitt in 14th with Josh Owens 20th.
Udate 2: Link
Rory Skinner scored his second successive top 10 finish in the second round of the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship at Le Mans, while team-mate Dan Jones crashed out despite impressively scything through the field.
...
Jones fortunes took a turn for the worse, as having got enthusiastic, his tyres began to wear off and he high sided off into retirement.

That was as spectacular as racing comes.
First row Yamahas with Zarco! third. Zarco īrulesī; managed Q1 on one set of tires and got into Q2!! Took a short breather and went on to tick off superfast times one after another.
2 KTMs in the top 10 which is simply an unheard of feat for a new machine.
Abraham 9th and Lorenzo somewhere at the back again.
īBummerī. Cannot see the race tomorrow. Well, I could but just been invited by attractive female company to a nude beach. No tv can beat that imo. I will watch a rerun. Or not.
Best set of races I've seen for a long time.....every class had its dramas....great stuff.
Wow - fantastic racing.
The Moto 3 crash (how did nobody get badly hurt) must make Dorna think about taking notice of the BSB rule where you can't pick a bike up & rejoin after a crash.
The MotoGP was just awesome - Rossi just wanted the win that tiny bit too much. It's been over a year now. Brilliant riding from Zarco, Vinales & Rossi among others. Last 3 laps were incredible.

I've got to admit that I screamed at the TV when Rossi crashed. I'm gutted, can't believe he made such a school boy error.
Rumours starting to surface, looks like it's confirmed :

Just too sad...
Yep...just seen it on the BBC site. He leaves behind a big space to fill and lots of good memories. Adieu, Nicky...
Such a shame....:(
shocking news,
very sad to hear, RIP Nicky
So sad.
I'd not be surprised if you folk thought i wasn't bothered being here but apologies..haven't abandoned my OP thread...just had a lot on over weekend & again full anorak mode means watching all practice,QP & races & avoiding any web/social media.
Great set of races... so many offs...Le Mans weather at start was how it was in 06 when i went...wish '17 sunday race weather was what we got on way back though.... fine millimetres is the success in GP & Vale paid price..as commentators said Le Mans bites hard for tiny errors.....
all of it terribly overshadowed of course by the tragic death of Nicky... met him in paddock, signed my visor & was a decent man... wore my tissot hayden all week as a tiny insignificant tribute....
it's just started losing time poignantly for me...still can't believe it ..

So am I. Not grief though :-)
Been invited by charming company to spend a weekend in Puerto Banus.
Will be keeping track of the proceedings as best as possible.
If the social activities prevent watching live, then I will watch a rerun, even if Monday.
I mean; social activiies with charming company take preference over watching the tele any time.
A wonderful track btw Misano, and even more wonderful surroundings.
Raced there once and did not enjoy much of the surroundings. Some twenty years later went as helper with a friend who had a race. Both being a older and wiser then, we MADE the time to enjoy the hills and the coast.
Mugello...Rossi apparently fit to ride & finally a weekend of sunshine to get a better measure of where everyone really is.... expect a tribute to Nicky over weekend I'm sure...

Away in Helmsley for the weekend, no BT sport at the house so recording every session and race for when we get home. Mates under instruction that whatever happens NO TEXT MESSAGES 😎
Go on the doctor
That was a great day of racing
Did anyone clearly see the Rolex model Rossi was wearing? If you have a link to a picture of him wearing it I'd be grateful

Great race - well done Dovi!
It's just a matter of time...
