Did anyone clearly see the Rolex model Rossi was wearing? If you have a link to a picture of him wearing it I'd be grateful

Not a lot when you think Abraham is an awesome rider

Yes, but it is on a watch forum......

A quick Google shows a close up of him wearing a 116610LN during his Ducati days and I'm sure I've seen him wearing it recently too. I'm certain he had a BLNR on during the Thursday pressers and after the Moto 3 race, but I've struggled to find a good close up.

I'm just getting packed to head of to Catalunya in the morning, hopefully a good weekend of racing ahead.

Heart rate now declining...how do the riders manage?

I'm surprised there aren't more posts relating to today's three excellent races?! My heart was in my mouth when the rain began falling. I have to say I'm not a fan of flag to flag, far too much of a lottery element. I think the right one won though ;) Mav was VERY lucky

There is no Brit to harp on about.

    Yes; THAT was racing.
Typically Assen too. Both with the weather and the last corner mayham.

Or perhaps some of us haven't seen it yet!

Formula 1 was live on channel 4, there'll be a one hour Moto GP highlights show on channel 5 this evening. I expect that I'll be able to comment once I've seen it!

I won't be able to comment on Moto 2 or 3 as 30 seconds isn't really enough to get a feel for the races.

Racing in GP was fantastic once again. Crutchlow (Brit ) was so close to pulling off a fantastic race. Lorenzo is so far off being competitive at the moment. Great day

Stupid comment as usual...actually there were 2

McPhee got a well deserved podium in the Moto 3 race..
& Crutchlow showed fantastic pace at the end just missing out on a podium.....

Glad to see that Baldassarrii is on the mend after a truly horrific high side..👍

    3 great races.

Fantastic to see Rossi win again & another super ride from Danilo Petrucci

I'd love to know what goes on in Lorenzos head, I was at Catalunya and he was a joy to watch. Lookong at him in this weekends race it's like he was a different person, qualified in 21st and finished 15th doesn't seem too good.

I'm looking forward to more of Zarco and if Vinales gets a grip them hopefully still some exciting races to come. (I'm sorry if I've forgotten to big up a Brit and been negative about another nationality)

Riding at that level is so dependant on confidence. A fraction of a percent off full commitment is all that's needed to make a bit difference.

We were there, the noise when Rossi took the lead was incredible. Although there's good riders coming through I still don't see anyone to inherit Rossi's fan base. Could have been Marquez but he blew it in 2015.

I did think that Vinales could be the one to follow in the Doctors footsteps, he still might but will need to get back to the front before too long.

...and Marquez again showing he is a little shit.
Doubly so given his sheer unlimited talent.

    Impressive Espargaro on the KTM!!!

It looks as though the MotoGP race may finish just before the rain arrives.

The same can't be said for the second RBRC race later on. After a very wet race, this was the podium for Race 1, yesterday:

courtesy GEPA pictures/ Gold and Goose

    ...spot the twins (again).

Edit: The rain is closer than was predicted an hour ago...

Update: I've just read on the link above that the RBRC Race 2 is cancelled "due to weather conditions". And while I typed that, it's gone back to "broadcast will start soon"...

14h17 I've got sound but no pictures...but they're not due to start their broadcast until 14h20. And we're live...

Race over: A good race and one of the twins on the top step...again. Mechanical fault for the other while one of the Brits slid off and the other got a point.

    Unhappy RIP Angel Nieto

I know we've had a bit of a Moto GP holiday over the last few weeks, but I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the passing of 12+1 times world, champion Angel Nieto.

Apparently the 70 year old ex champ died following a quad bike accident..... RIP Angel....

Fantastic race with Dovi, Marquez, Dani, and a little bit of Jorge at the start at the weekend.

But what happened to Cal. Bad tyre choice?

I think so. Sometimes it works for him, others not.

It's clear from when they were team mates that Dovi and Cal are fairly evenly matched (apart from Dovi's superior overtaking ability) so there's no reason for him not to be right up there!

We all have occasional bad days though.

  33. #283
Re Crutchlow: Was that karma paying him a visit after his comments about Scott Redding?! I like Cal and he is clearly capable of sticking with Dovi, as his time at Yamaha and Ducati proved, but I think he should consider his glass house before chucking rocks.

Sometimes I think he comments to be 'smart' and get some sort of reaction, this time I think it might have but him in the bum.

Wonderful GP race today. Masterful is the term that occurs to me...for more than just the winner.

Edit: But if you want to see some dicing and overtaking, try the last race of the day: RBRC Race 2.

What a fantastic last lap and great to see such skill, balls and determination from both riders. Pleased for Dovi as I'm slightly biased towards Ducati and still can't forgive MM after his debacle with Rossi 2 years ago, however you cannot deny his skill in riding that Honda to the limits and beyond, phenomenal!

Diappointed Rossi crashed and Crutchlow twice! Poor Cal is not having a great time at the moment.

My favourite has to be Zarco, for a rookie he is doing extremely well and one to watch for future world champion in my opinion.

Dovi and Marquez a consummate display in smooth riding and razor like reactions whilst sat astride 200+ bhp. Great TV and worthy win for Dovi.
In the post event interviews MM was really pleased with his ride.

Nail biting ending to a great race. Pleased to see Dovi take it, and that the season end isn’t a forgone conclusion. I don’t know what’s up with Cal but back to the old days of crashing...
