Thread: Martin Freeman

    Martin Freeman

I think I've noticed Martin Freeman wearing some interesting and possibly vintage watches on various things (mostly his wrist, ha ha).

Anyone got any more info or close-ups or details?

He used to wear a Monaco on Sherlock. So did Gervais in his stand up, I suspect both Office boys have upgraded the price of theirs since.

A thread was started on it and you replied, so I'd say it's likely.

Its just being interested in watches, which is kinda the point of this forum?

I'm not interested in which Richard Mille model that Bubba Watson wears or which aberration of a Hublot that some random La Liga footballer wears as I don't think they are vaguely interested in watches.

But if a famous and hopefully stylish, actor, sportsmen or business leader wears a particular watch, even if its just for PR purposes, then I find it interesting. Its only natural.

But back to the original point......I also noticed he was sporting something different for this season but couldn't put my finger on it. Was a it a Girrard Perregaux chrono?

Or am thinking about a different programme?

    Hmmmm interesting question.

On a watch forum I think it would be quite possible there is some interest, wouldn't you?

    My wife does.

I bought my Rolex years ago and she said it's just a watch(factually correct)

However last year when she realized Michael Buble(she's been to more of his concerts than i have had hot dinners) was an ambassador for Rolex she wants one and we have spent months looking for the right one.

    So the answer is yes.

    Michael Buble?

    They should re-make the Buble-back.

I must admit I have a tendency to clock, (sorry) what telly people wear on their wrist. I think Martin had the monaco on, on Sundays show.
I do sort of half watch the Antique road trips shows and the like. David Harper of Barnard Castle fame wears some nice watches, on his last appearance think he had a nice day date on.
A word of warning, it could become addictive!

Ryan Gosling wearing a 5500 Air King at the Golden Globes a few days ago, for example.

Matthew Wright on the Wright Stuff almost always wears a Speedmaster Professional (or at least I think its a pro) - classiest thing on the programme.

In the latest Sherlock ep, it *looked* as though he was wearing a Breguet Type XX. But I'm probably wrong...

I guess the simple answer to this is yes - look at the Paul Newman daytona. He was seen wearing the watch in a few magazines which was then picked up by Rolex collectors and the rest as they say is history.
