    G-Shock with a compass?

    Hi Folks,

I am looking for a G-Shock which has a built in compass. From there it seems you are playing off other features. I havent been able to find a website which allows you to filter on features so there is a lot of home work to do.
Ideally, I would like compass, tide times and solar.

Are there any websites which help narrow it down?

    Thanks
    Andy

Don't know of such a website but compass and tide is a rare combination on a G-Shock if it even exists.

If it doesn't have to be a G-Shock, a Promaster ProTrek e.g. PRW-2500R-1CR has all features you need.

    The GShock One

There you go..., everything you need for £700. That was the exact g shock I saw last weekend that knocked me sideways with its £700 price tag. Got to say though that now I've read its spec I'm finding myself tempted. Funny business this watch game.

The ProTrek I mentioned is only £190. Why so mucjh cheaper than G-Shocks - are they just less 'tough'?

The Gulfmaster Gn1000 has a tide graph and compass, £250 above but you should be able to get it cheaper.

That's good then, I had one and I'm sure it was 'only' 100m.

The G Shock Perfect Search Engine allows you to put your exact requirements in.

The ProTrek just doesn't do anything more me. Which is a shame as it clearly ticks all the other boxes.

If thats the case, thats a great deal. I think I could possibly put up with the gold for that kind of discount.

I am also trying to decide if I can do without some of the features and get a GA1000-4A

    http://www.casio.com/products/watches/g-shock/ga1000-4a

If it's good enough for Bear Grylls, it should be good enough for me. It's a better looking watch and I like the colour. Guessing the battery only means a year or two max, before it has to be replaced?

    Thanks Craig,

I decided to go with this in the end, it seems the best deal for the functionality I wanted.

The watch was delivered very quickly, it arrived this morning. I am quite pleased, the gold doesn't look as bad as I thought.

Never taken a picture of my wrist before, should I shave my arms before uploading any other watch pics in the future :O

I am sorry, I'm quite new to this. What is Lume? Do you mean when the light button is pressed?

'Lume' normally means the luminous hands and markers but you're right, G-Shocks usually have a light source themselves.

    Ah thanks, I understand now.

In partial light, the hands and 4 main hours glow up quite well.
With the light activated, it lights up very well indeed.
